Eligibility Criteria
- Marine Engineer: MOT 1st Class Motor Certificate or Marine Engineer Officer Class I Certificate issued under Merchant Shipping Act, 1958. One year post qualification experience as Chief Engineer/2nd Engineer on board a foreign going ship.
- Superintending Engineer (Civil): Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institution. Nine years experience in executive cadre in Planning/Construction/Design/Maintenance preferably of Port and Marine Structures in an Industrial/Commercial Govt. Undertaking.
- Dy. Director (Research): Degree in Economics or Statistics or Mathematics from a recognized University/Institution. Five Years executive experience in Planning or in Collection, Compilation & Interpretation of data or in conducting field surveys, investigations etc.
- Desirable (Dy. Director (Research)): PG Degree/Diploma in Economics or Statistics or Mathematics or Operational Research and allied subjects from a recognized University/Institution. Knowledge of computer operations.
Salary/ Stipend
- Marine Engineer: Rs. 70000-200000
- Superintending Engineer (Civil): Rs. 60000-180000
- Dy. Director (Research): Rs.50000-160000
- In addition to Basic Pay, other allowances and benefits like VDA, accommodation/HRA, Cafeteria Allowance @ 35% of Basic Pay, Encashment of Earned Leave etc. would be admissible as per rules.
Age Limit (as on 23 February 2026)
- Marine Engineer: 40 years
- Superintending Engineer (Civil): 40 years
- Dy. Director (Research): 35 years
- Age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates on reserved posts.
- Age relaxation of 10 years for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) on identified posts.
- Employees of Major Port Authorities: Age limit up to 55 years.

Selection Process
- Personal Interview for final selection.
- CoPA may conduct examination (written test objective/descriptive/both and/or Group Discussion and/or presentation) to shortlist candidates depending on number of applications.
- Weightage: Examination 85% and Interview 15%.
- If no examination required, shortlisting by ranking on Educational Qualification (max 30 marks) and Experience (max 55 marks), total 85 marks, followed by Personal Interview (15 marks).
- CoPA reserves right to conduct Group Discussion and/or Presentation as part of Personal Interview (15 marks total for interview including GD/Presentation).
- Number of candidates called for interview: 6 to 12 times vacancies if no examination; up to 3 times if examination conducted.

- Experience after date of passing qualifying exam only. Training/apprentice period not counted as experience.
