Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications:
- MTS: Matriculation or equivalent pass
- Driver: 10th standard pass with valid driving license for LMV & HMV, knowledge of motor mechanism, 3 years driving experience.
Desirable:
- MTS: One year experience in Laboratory / Office / Store
- Driver: Experience of driving LMV / HMV in Govt. / Semi Govt. / Autonomous Organizations / PSUs / Universities.

Selection Process
- For MTS: Written Test (Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions) in two papers - Paper-I (General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness) and Paper-II (General English, Quantitative Aptitude).
- For Driver: Written Test followed by Driving Test / Skill Test.
General Information/Instructions
- These posts carry usual allowances i.e. Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA) etc. as admissible to the Central Government employees and as made applicable to CSIR. Council employees are also eligible for accommodation of their entitled type as per CSIR Residence Allotment Rules depending on availability in which case HRA will not be admissible.
- Council employees are entitled to medical facility for self and dependents through CSIR Dispensary.
- Social Security cover under New Pension Scheme (NPS) is applicable to the Council employees appointed on or after 01.01.2004.
- All appointees are liable to be posted anywhere in India as and when required.
- The number of vacancies may vary (increase or decrease) at the time of actual selection. The panel of candidates will be prepared for the post codes for future requirements.
- The selected candidates will be governed by the provisions of the New Pension Scheme as introduced by the Govt. of India w.e.f. 01.01.2004.
- Canvassing in any form and / or bringing in any influence, political or otherwise, will be treated as a disqualification for the post. No interim enquiry or correspondence will be entertained.

- Online Application will be available on CSIR-IITR website from 20/01/2026 (10:00 AM) to 19/02/2026 (05:00 PM).
- Candidates are required to pay application fee of Rs.500/- online through the link available under the payment option in online application.
- SC/ST/PwBD/Women/Ex-Servicemen/CSIR Employees are exempted from payment of application fee.
- Candidate is required to upload his/her recent passport size scanned colour photograph, signature and also relevant certificates at the specified places in the online application.
- Candidates should have a valid e-mail ID which is to be entered in the online application form. They are advised to retain this e-mail ID active for at least one year as any important intimation to the candidates shall be provided by CSIR-IITR through e-mail. They are further advised to check their e-mail regularly for any updates.
- After completely filling the online application form, candidates need to take the print out of the completed application form & Payment receipt and then send the signed copy along with self-attested copies of certificates, mark-sheets, testimonials in support of age, educational qualifications, experience, and caste certificate, if applicable, together with payment receipt (if applicable), in an envelope super scribed “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ____________ (Post Code ________)” so as to reach the Controller of Administration, CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, Vishvigyan Bhawan, 31, Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Lucknow - 226001 on or before 19/02/2026 up to 05:00 P.M.
