M.Sc. or Integrated Masters in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Life Sciences from a recognized university.
Job Requirement:
Survey and field work.
Laboratory work related to the project.
Data analysis.
Hands-on work with molecular biology techniques.

NET/GATE/National Exams for higher emoluments:

National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments like DBT, DST, or equivalent and/or their agencies/institutions.
General eligibility conditions:
Only candidates who have acquired the essential qualification and whose result has been declared (with at least provisional degree certificate) are eligible.
Result awaited/final semester appearing/Ph.D. submitted candidates are not eligible.
Experience, where applicable in CSIR norms, will be counted only after acquiring the minimum essential educational qualification; dissertation/thesis work will not be treated as experience.
Salary/Stipend
Project Associate-I (PAT-I):
Category (a): Rs. 31,000/- per month + HRA for:
CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET Lectureship/Assistant Professorship qualified, or
GATE qualified, or
Qualified in equivalent National level exams conducted by Central Government Departments like DBT/DST or their agencies/institutions.
Category (b): Rs. 25,000/- per month + HRA for others not falling in (a).
HRA is admissible as per applicable CSIR/CSIR-NEERI rules and project guidelines.
Age Limit

Selection Process
Selection will be done through Walk-in-Interview at CSIR-NEERI, Nagpur.
Mere fulfillment of minimum qualifications does not confer any right to be called for interview:
If a large number of candidates appear, preference will be as per criteria adopted by the Screening Committee.
For offline (walk-in) interviews, no TA will be paid to candidates.
Shortlisted candidates for any online interview mode (if used) would be informed through website/portal; however, this notice is explicitly for walk-in interview mode.
Final selection and engagement are subject to:

Completion of pre-appointment formalities such as medical examination and character verification.
General Information/Instructions
The engagement is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project “BIOLIFT (GAP-3028)”; it confers no right, implicit or explicit, for regularization or absorption in CSIR/CSIR-NEERI.
Total tenure of project staff across CSIR-NEERI and other CSIR labs under contract R&D projects will not exceed six or seven years as per CSIR OM No. 5-1(342)/2017-PD dated 02.09.2024 (clauses 1.6/1.7).
Upper age limit is reckoned as on the last date of receipt of applications.
Time spent acquiring higher qualifications is not counted as experience over essential qualification.
No upgradation of project staff is permitted in the same or new project; fresh application and selection is required for any new engagement.
CSIR-NEERI reserves the right to cancel or withdraw offer of engagement at any stage in case of any discrepancy in candidature.
Selected candidates must sign an undertaking to maintain confidentiality of project findings and associated intellectual property information.
Engagement depends on project tenure and requirements; may be extended or curtailed based on project duration and performance/conduct.
Engagement may be terminated at any time by giving one month’s notice by either side, or payment of one month’s remuneration in lieu (subject to competent authority’s discretion).
Project staff must arrange their own accommodation; HRA will be paid as per rules.
Offer letter will initially cover period for which funds are available; extension requires review by project review committee, subject to availability of funds.
All terms are governed by CSIR guidelines for project personnel as per OM No. 5-1(342)/2017-PD dated 02.09.2024/18.10.2024 and subsequent amendments.
