CSL Technician and ITI Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Overview

Cochin Shipyard Limited has released Notification No. CSL/P&A/APPE/SEL. DESIGNTD/-DESIGNATED/2022/2 dated 16 Sep 2026, for the engagement of Technician (Vocational)/Trade Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Interested and eligible ITI/Vocational certificate holders can apply online for One Year apprenticeship training.

CSL ITI Trade Apprentices – Trade-wise Seats

Note: Inclusion of Marine Fitter (S.No. 16) as a designated trade is under consideration by the Directorate General of Training (DGT), Government of India. Registration of apprenticeship contracts in this trade will be possible only after DGT approval.

CSL Technician and ITI Apprentice Eligibility Criteria 2026

CSL apprentice eligibility 2026 differs for ITI Trade Apprentices and Technician (Vocational) Apprentices, as detailed below.

Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training in any other organisation, for any duration, under the Apprentices Act, 1961, are not eligible to apply. Applicants with qualifications equivalent to the prescribed qualification must upload an Equivalency Certificate issued by the competent authority; without this certificate their candidature will not be considered.

CSL Technician and ITI Apprentice Age Limit 2026

The minimum age required for both ITI Trade Apprentices and Technician (Vocational) Apprentices is 18 years, as on 08.10.2026. The notification does not specify an upper age limit; physical standards are as prescribed under the Apprentices Act 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules 1992.

CSL Technician and ITI Apprentice Stipend 2026

Selected apprentices, under both the ITI Trade Apprentice and Technician (Vocational) Apprentice categories, will receive a stipend of Rs. 11,000/- per month during the one-year apprenticeship training period. No travel expenses are admissible for attending certificate verification or during the apprenticeship training period, and boarding/lodging will not be provided by CSL.

CSL Technician and ITI Apprentice Selection Process 2026

Selection to CSL Technician (Vocational)/Trade Apprentice posts is based on shortlisting by merit, followed by certificate verification and medical fitness clearance; there is no written examination specified in the notification.

1. Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualification applicable to the respective trade/discipline. In case of a tie in marks, relative merit will be decided based on seniority in age.
2. Intimation to Shortlisted Candidates: Shortlisted candidates will be intimated through their registered email ID and will have to appear for certificate verification.
3. Certificate Verification: Candidates must produce a signed printout of the online application form (with unique registration number), original certificates towards proof of age, qualification, caste, and disability (if any), along with self-attested copies of these certificates.
4. Provisional Selection: On successful completion of certificate verification, applicants will be provisionally considered for selection against the notified seats in order of merit/reservation, subject to medical fitness.
5. Apprenticeship Contract: Selected candidates must execute the apprenticeship contract agreement through the https://apprenticeshipindia.gov.in portal.

Rank lists will be maintained for all posts and operated for seats arising during the validity period, which is up to 18 months from the date of reporting of the last candidate advised to join, unless a fresh notification is issued. Such seats will not be treated as fresh vacancies.

CSL Technician and ITI Apprentice Apply Online process is conducted entirely through the CSL SAP E-recruitment portal; no offline or postal applications are accepted.

1. Go through the User Manual published on www.cochinshipyard.in (Career page – CSL Kochi) before filling the online application.
2. Complete Phase 1: One-time Registration on the SAP E-recruitment portal of CSL.
3. Complete Phase 2: Submission of the application against the applicable Trade/Vocation. Applicants should not submit more than one application; the application, once submitted, is final.
