Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications
- For Level-2 & Level-3 (GP Rs. 2000/- & GP Rs. 1900/-): 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent examination
- A pass in Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognized Board and having ITI Certificate may also apply to be posted as Tech-III/Level-2 GP Rs. 1900/-
- A pass in Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognized Board may also apply to be posted as Tech-III/Level-2 GP Rs. 1900/- subject to completion of prescribed training as per Railway Board's guidelines
- For Level-1 (GP Rs. 1800/-): 10th Pass or ITI or equivalent OR National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT
- No relaxation in minimum educational qualification shall be permissible
- Candidates must mandatorily submit photocopy of relevant documents in support of their educational qualification while filling up the application form and the original of educational qualification certificate must be produced on the day of Trials
Sports Achievements
- Applicant should be currently an active player and should have fulfilled the sports achievements on or after 01.04.2023
- Certificates in support of the sports achievements must be submitted along with the application form
- All championships should have been conducted under the aegis of recognized International/National/State Sports Federations and also recognized by the Railway Sports Promotion Board
Minimum Sports Norms for Level-2/Level-3 (Rs. 1,900 or Rs. 2,000)
- Represented the Country in any of the Category-B Championships/Events OR
- At least 3rd Position in any of the Category-C Championships/Events OR
- At least 3rd Position in Senior/Youth/Junior National Championships OR
- At least 3rd Position in National Games organized under aegis of Indian Olympic Association OR
- At least 3rd Position in All India Inter University Championship organized under the aegis of Association of Indian Universities OR
- 1st Position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior Category)
Minimum Sports Norms for Level-1 (Rs. 1,800)
- Represented the Country in any of the Category–C Championships/events OR
- At least 3rd position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior Category) OR
- Represented a state or equivalent Unit, except in Marathon and Cross Country with at least 8th position in Senior National Championships only

- Category-A: Olympic Games (Senior)
- Category-B: World Cup (Junior/Youth/Senior); World Championships (Junior/Senior); Asian Games (Senior); Commonwealth Games (Senior); Youth Olympics; Davis Cup (Tennis); Champions Trophy (Hockey); Thomas/Uber Cup (Badminton)

Special Note for Athletics
- Medal winning performance in National Inter State Senior Athletics Championship may also be considered for recruitment against the post having Grade Pay -1900/-
- Gold Medal winner in Open National Championship (Senior), Inter-State Athletics Championship (Senior) and Asian Championship (Senior) may be considered in GP 2400/-/2800/-
Junior National Championships Recognized by RSPB
- Archery (Men): Under-19, Junior National Archery Championship
- Athletics (Men/Women): Under-20, Junior National Athletics Championship

Weight Categories for Weightlifting
- 65 Kg (Men): Corresponding to old weight categories 61 Kg – 67 Kg
- 53 Kg (Women): Corresponding to old weight categories 49 Kg – 55 Kg
- 48 Kg (Women): Corresponding to old weight categories 45 Kg – 49 Kg
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 25 years
- Matriculation or its equivalent certificate from recognized Board should be submitted for date of birth proof
- No age relaxation is allowed even for SC/ST/OBC candidates
Application Fee
- Application fee should be submitted in the form of Demand Draft from any Nationalized Bank, or crossed Indian Postal Order from any Post Office (issued on or after the date of this notification) drawn in favour of "Principal Financial Adviser, East Coast Railway, payable at Bhubaneswar"
- Candidates must write their name, full address at the space provided in the IPO
- Applications received with cash/Money order/Central Recruitment Fees Stamps/Cheque will not be accepted and hence will be rejected
- Certificate in proof of the above issued by the authorities authorized to issue such certificate should be enclosed along with the application form for getting relaxation in the application fee

Selection Process
- Selection will be based upon performance in sports Trials and Sports Achievements
- Certificate (Sports & Educational) Verification will be done by a duly constituted Recruitment Committee of this railway
- The venue & date for Trials and Certificate Verification will be intimated to the eligible candidates
Distribution of Marks
Minimum Qualifying Marks
- Candidates who are found FIT in the Trial will be considered for the next stage of recruitment
- Candidates securing 25 Marks or more against Game skill, physical fitness and coach's observation during Trial are treated as FIT candidates
- The Recruitment process is based purely on the merit of the candidates as per vacancies, in a particular discipline, notified
- In case more than one sports persons score the same mark, preference would be given to the younger candidate to decide the merit
General Information/Instructions
- Applications are invited from eligible Sportspersons who are Indian nationals for recruitment against Sports Quota (Open Advt.) for the year 2025-26 in East Coast Railway
- There is no reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS communities. The candidates having the required performance in the particular sports discipline will be selected on the basis of overall merit secured irrespective of their communities
- The notification with the application form are available in East Coast Railway website www.rrcbbs.org.in
- Application Form should be made on a good quality white A-4 (210x297 mm) size paper using ONE SIDE ONLY
- The candidate has to fill up required information in his/her own handwriting using blue/black ball point pen
- The application should be filled either in English or Hindi but not in any other language
- One recent passport size photograph (4cm x 5cm) should be affixed on the application form without fail
- One loose extra photograph with name, date of birth, and signature of the candidate written on the backside should be attached along with the application form
- Candidates are required to sign in English or in Hindi in the prescribed places provided in the application form
- Candidates should give two left thumb impressions (LTI) in the application form. If the LTIs are not clear and are smudged, the application will liable to be rejected
- Only Date of Birth as recorded in the Matriculation/High School Examination Certificate is to be considered
- Candidate should write his/her name, father's name/husband's name in capital letters as given in educational Certificate
- Selected candidates are likely to be posted anywhere on East Coast Railway after successful completion of all pre-appointment formalities, including training wherever prescribed
- Eligible applicants will be issued with call letters through their registered e-mail id only, for the sports trials
- East Coast Railway will upload the list of eligible and ineligible candidates in the website www.rrcbbs.org.in for general information and viewing
- Individual requests for change in dates/venue for trials etc. shall not be entertained under any circumstances
- Selected candidates have to pass the requisite medical fitness standards prior to appointment
- In the event of appointment as Clerk-cum-typist posts in Group-C railway service, candidates will be required to acquire typing proficiency of 30 w.p.m. in English or 25 w.p.m. in Hindi within a period of four years from the date of appointment
- Selected candidates will have to submit Service Bond of 5 years at the time of appointment
- Sportspersons recruited against sports quota shall be terminated from service summarily, if the information and documents furnished by him/her for recruitment are found incorrect/fake at any stage
- Decision of East Coast Railway in all matters relating to this recruitment shall be final
- No TA/DA/Accommodation will be given for appearing in the selection trial/interview. Candidates will have to bring their own kit
- Candidates may be required to stay during the selection for 2-3 days for which they have to make their own arrangements
- All documents may be self attested
- Candidates applying for more than one game/event shall submit separate applications with separate fee
- Those candidates who are debarred from appearing in any of the RRB/RRC exams need not apply unless their debarment period is over by the closing date
- Canvassing in any form will attract disqualification
- Railway Administration shall not be responsible for any postal delay. Late applications would be summarily rejected
- The Railway Administration has all rights reserved to fix any date, as deemed suitable, change of place or postponement of Trials at its own convenience, which can also be cancelled due to unforeseen exigencies
- For any legal dispute, the jurisdiction will be the Central Administrative Tribunal, Cuttack
- Recruitment is purely merit based. East Coast Railway have not appointed any agent or coaching centre for acting on its behalf for this recruitment

- Fill the application form carefully in your own handwriting using blue/black ball point pen
- The application should be filled either in English or Hindi only
- Affix one recent passport size photograph (4cm x 5cm) on the application form
- Attach one loose extra photograph with name, date of birth, and signature written on the backside
- Provide two marks of physical identification and two left thumb impressions (LTI) clearly in the application form
- Enclose legible Xerox copies of all certificates in proof of educational qualification, age, ST/SC/OBC status etc.
