Eligibility Criteria
- Officer-in-Charge Polyclinic: Graduate. Only retired service officers from Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force drawing pension from Defence estimates through CDA with minimum 5 years work experience in Health care institution or managerial positions.
- Gynaecologist: MD/MS in speciality concerned / DNB with minimum 03 years experience in the specialty.
- Medical Specialist (Gen Med): Recognized Post Graduate qualification in the concerned specialty with requisite post-PG experience as specified in the notification.
- Radiologist: Recognized medical qualification as per Indian Medical Council Act 1956 with Post Graduate degree in Radiology as per Central Health Service Regulations 1996 and minimum 05 years experience in the specialty after Post Graduation.
- Medical Officer: MBBS with minimum 03 years experience after internship; preferable additional qualification in Medicine/Surgery.
- Dental Officer: BDS with minimum 03 years work experience after internship.
- Dental Hygienist: Diploma Holder in Dental Hygiene / Class 1 DH / DORA Course (Armed Forces) with minimum 05 years experience in dental lab.
- Radiographer: Diploma / Class 1 Radiographer Course (Armed Forces) with minimum 05 years experience.
- Physiotherapist: Diploma / Class 1 Physiotherapy Course (Armed Forces) with minimum five years experience.
- Nursing Assistant: Class 1 Nursing Assistant Course (Armed Forces) with minimum 05 years experience.
- Pharmacist: B Pharm from a recognized institute OR 10+2 with Science stream (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and approved Diploma in Pharmacy from an institute recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India, registered as Pharmacist under Pharmacy Act 1948, with minimum 03 years experience.
- Laboratory Assistant: DMLT / Class-1 Lab Tech Course (Armed Forces) with minimum 05 years experience in Lab.
- Laboratory Technician: B.Sc (Medical Lab Technology) OR 10+2 with Science and Diploma in Medical Lab Technology from recognized institution with minimum 03 years experience as Lab Assistant in medical Lab.
- Driver: 8th Class / Class 1 MT Driver (Armed Forces) possessing a civil driving license (LMV) with minimum 05 years experience as driver.
- Safaiwala: Literate with minimum 05 years experience.
- Female Attendant: Literate with minimum 05 years experience in Civil / Army Health Institutions.
- Chowkidar: Class VIII or GD Trade for Armed Forces personnel.
- Peon: Class VIII / GD Trade (Armed Forces) with minimum 05 years service as mentioned in the notification.
- Clerk/Data Entry Operator: Graduate / Class-I Clerical trade (Armed Forces) with minimum 05 years service.
Salary/Stipend
- Officer-in-Charge Polyclinic: Rs 95,000/- per month.
- Gynaecologist: Full Time (5 hrs) Rs 1,30,000/- per month.
- Medical Specialist (Gen Med): Part Time 4 hrs Rs 4670/- per day.
- Radiologist: 3 hrs Rs 3500/- per day; 2 hrs Rs 2330/- per day. Per day payment will change in case monthly payment will be revised.
- Medical Officer: Rs 95,000/- per month.
- Dental Officer: Rs 95,000/- per month.
- Dental Hygienist: Rs 36,500/- per month.
- Radiographer: Rs 36,500/- per month.
- Physiotherapist: Rs 36,500/- per month.
- Nursing Assistant: Rs 36,500/- per month.
- Pharmacist: Rs 36,500/- per month.
- Laboratory Assistant: Rs 36,500/- per month.
- Laboratory Technician: Rs 36,500/- per month.
- Driver: Rs 25,600/- per month.
- Safaiwala: Rs 21,800/- per month.
- Female Attendant: Rs 21,800/- per month.

Age Limit
- Maximum age for selection is 68 years for Specialist categories such as Gynaecologist, Medical Specialist, Radiologist and similar posts as specified in the vacancy tables.
- Maximum age for Medical Officer is 66 years.
- Maximum age for selection is 63 years for Officer-in-Charge Polyclinic and Dental Officer.
- Maximum age for technical and support staff such as Dental Hygienist, Radiographer, Physiotherapist, Nursing Assistant, Pharmacist, Laboratory Assistant, Laboratory Technician is 56 years.
- Maximum age for Driver, Safaiwala, Female Attendant, Chowkidar, Peon, Clerk/Data Entry Operator and similar support staff categories is 53 years.

Important Dates
Selection Process
- Applications will be scrutinized at ECHS Cell, Station Headquarters Thiruvananthapuram based on eligibility, mandated qualifications and experience.
- Shortlisted candidates will only be called for written test and interview.
- Written test will be conducted prior to interview except for Peon, Chowkidar, Female Attendant and Safaiwala.
- Eligible candidates will be informed telephonically/through e-mail regarding written test and interview schedule.
- Appointing authority reserves the right to reject/cancel applications based on incomplete applications/certificates/mandated qualifications/experience without assigning reasons.
- Employment will be purely contractual for 11/12 months and at the discretion of the appointing authority. Contract can be terminated by either side by giving one month notice.
- Hiring duration of the vacancy reserved for ESM/Civilian is 12 months. Civilian selected in lieu of Ex Servicemen vacancy will be for a period of 11 months only.
- All those candidates who have worked in Empanelled Hospitals will have a clear gap of one year between appointments.
- Selected Officers (Officer in Charge, Medical Officer, Medical Specialists, Radiologist, Gynaecologist and Dental Officer) will undergo 10 days On Job Training (OJT); this duration will remain unpaid and is mandatory before assuming contractual appointment.
General Information/Instructions
- Applications are invited for short listing suitable candidates for contractual hiring for 11/12 months duration on required basis for vacancies occurring in ECHS Polyclinics during 2026–27 as noted against each category.
- All candidates are required to download the application form attached in editable PDF format, type the data and forward a printed copy duly affixed with passport size photographs by 10 Feb 2026 to Station Headquarters (ECHS), Pangode, Thirumala PO, Thiruvananthapuram - 695 006.
- Attested copies of documents to be forwarded with application include Bio-data, educational certificates (10th/12th and final exam passed certificate), experience certificates for total experience period, mark sheets, attempts certificate, registration and renewed registration certificates, compulsory rotatory internship certificate, any other certificate required for the post, copy of full Discharge book and PPO for Armed Forces candidates, latest medical fitness certificate, Aadhar Card and PAN Card.
- Applications received by post after 10 Feb 2026 will not be considered.
- Candidates may preferably apply for only one post/vacancy in two ECHS Polyclinic locations.
- Candidates earlier selected in last one year but declined to join duty need not apply.

- Written exam schedule, if conducted on a prior date, will be notified to eligible candidates through SMS/e-mail; candidates must bring pen/pencil, eraser, writing board etc.

- Download the application form for employment in ECHS which is attached with the notification in editable PDF format.
- Type all data in the application form, take a printout and affix a recent passport size photograph in the space provided.
- Fill details of post applied for, personal particulars, postal address with pincode, category, date of birth, Aadhaar number, PAN card number, AWPO Registration number, higher qualification and educational qualifications as per table in the form.
- Provide complete details of work experience with period of employment, total experience and reason for leaving the job; attach experience certificates for consideration.
- Ex-servicemen must provide details such as Arms/Service, unit last served, total period of service including SSC if any, previous service in Army/Central/State Govt, PPO and full discharge book details.
- Attach attested photocopies of all required documents including educational certificates, mark sheets, attempts certificates, registration certificates, internship certificates, medical fitness certificate, Aadhar and PAN cards as specified.
- Ensure all statements in the application form are correct and complete; sign the declaration with place, date and name of applicant.
- Send the duly filled and signed application form along with attested copies of documents by post so as to reach Station Headquarters (ECHS), Pangode, Thirumala PO, Thiruvananthapuram - 695 006 on or before 10 Feb 2026.
