Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications:
- Possess a degree of Master of Science in Home Science/Food and Nutrition/Nutrition and Dietetics/Food Science & Nutrition/Food Service Management and Dietetics/Clinical Nutrition
- The degree must be obtained from any of the Universities established or incorporated by or under the Central or a State Act in India
- Or any other educational institution recognised as such or declared as deemed to be University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act 1956
- Possess the basic knowledge of computer application as prescribed in the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967
- Possess adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both
- Educational qualifications for direct recruitment of Dietician, Class-3 as fixed by the Health and Family Welfare Department through their resolution dated 02/02/2019 shall be valid
Essential Requirements:
- Candidate must be a citizen of India or possess nationality as per the provisions of Rule-7 of Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967
- Candidates must have all original certificates regarding educational qualifications, age, school leaving certificate, category certificates (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS), disability certificate (if applicable), ex-serviceman certificate (if applicable), and other qualification certificates
Desirable/Additional Qualifications:
- Computer knowledge certificate from any training institution or marksheet showing basic computer knowledge
- Certificate of any Diploma/Degree/Certificate course in computer knowledge from government recognized university or institution
- Certificate showing computer as a subject in Degree/Diploma curriculum
- Certificate of passing Standard 10 or Standard 12 examination with computer subject
Salary/Stipend
- Initially for the first five years: Fixed pay of Rs. 40,800/- per month
- After completion of five years with satisfactory service: Pay scale of Rs. 35,400/- to Rs. 1,12,400/- (Level-6) as per 7th Pay Commission
- Other benefits as per Finance Department resolutions dated 16/02/2006, 29/04/2010, 06/10/2011, 20/10/2014, 20/10/2015, 18/01/2017, and 18/10/2023
- Subject to the provisions of General Administration Department resolution dated 23/10/2015 and Finance Department resolutions
- Regular appointment eligibility after 5 years subject to satisfactory service as determined by the concerned office
- Subject to the judgment of SLP No.14124/2012 and SLP No.14125/2012 pending in the Supreme Court

Selection Process
- Selection will be based on competitive examination through MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) type
- Examination mode: CBRT/OMR (Computer Based Response Test/Optical Mark Recognition)
- Examination will be conducted in two parts: Part-A and Part-B
- Part-A (90 marks): Logical Test & Data Interpretation (30 marks), Mathematical Test (30 marks), Constitution, Current Affairs, English and Gujarati Comprehension (30 marks)
- Part-B (120 marks): Questions related to the concerned subject and its application
- Total Questions: 210 (Part-A: 90 questions, Part-B: 120 questions)
- Total Time: 3 hours (180 minutes) for both parts combined
- Negative Marking: 1/4 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer
- Qualifying Standard: Minimum 40% marks required separately in Part-A and Part-B for all categories
- Merit list will be prepared based on total marks/normalized marks obtained
- Candidates double the number of vacancies will be called for certificate verification based on merit
- Final selection list and waiting list will be prepared based on merit and category-wise vacancies
- Level of question paper will be equivalent to educational qualification

- Wrong information in application will lead to rejection of candidature
- Once online application is confirmed, no changes can be made in any details including category
- If a candidate applies more than once for the same advertisement, only the last confirmed application will be considered valid
- Upload recent passport size photo with white background and photo date (not older than 1 year from last date of application)
- Photo size: 5 cm height and 3.6 cm width; Signature size: 2.5 cm height and 7.5 cm width
- Photo and signature must be in JPG format (not more than 15 KB)
