GU B.Ed Merit List 2026 - How the Rank List Is Prepared

The rank list is prepared purely on marks scored in GUBEDCET 2026. Marks obtained in the qualifying degree carry no weightage in this ranking, and no affiliated college can grant direct admission outside this list.

When two or more candidates score equal marks, the university resolves the tie in this order:

1. Higher absolute ratio of positive marks to negative marks gets the better rank.
2. If still tied, fewer unanswered questions gets the better rank.
3. If still tied, the older candidate gets the better rank.

Important: Appearing in the merit list does not by itself confirm a seat. A candidate cannot claim admission without meeting NCTE eligibility criteria, and each affiliated college independently verifies eligibility before confirming admission.

GUBEDCET 2026 Exam Pattern and Marks Distribution

The 400 marks used for ranking come from five sections:

Marking scheme: +4 for each correct answer, -1 for each wrong answer, no deduction for unattempted questions.

2. Locate the GUBEDCET notice. Look for "Provisional Merit List GUBEDCET-2026" and open the attached PDF.
3. Search your roll number. Use Ctrl+F on a computer, or your PDF reader's search/find function on mobile, to locate your GUBEDCET roll number.
4. Verify your details. Check your name, roll number, marks, category, and rank carefully. Report any discrepancy to the university before the admission process begins.
5. Download and print. Colleges typically require a printed copy of the merit list entry at the time of document verification.

What Happens After the Merit List Is Out

Seat allocation is handled individually by each affiliated college, not centrally by the university. Candidates whose names appear in the merit list must approach their preferred college according to that college's own schedule. Admission is confirmed only after document verification and eligibility checks are completed by the college. Because each college has its own approved intake, a rank sufficient for admission at one college may not be enough at another with lower seat availability.
