Hartron Junior Programmer Selection Process
Junior Programmer falls under Hartron's rolling panel-empanelment process for Computer Professionals (apart from Data Entry Operators), which involves the following stages:
- 1st Test - Domain Knowledge Test: A computer-based MCQ test covering general computer topics and questions specific to the domain applied for. This test is valid for 1 year from the date of notifying the posts/advertisement.
- Training: Candidates who qualify the 1st test and are found eligible after document scrutiny must undergo training for the respective job role (approx. 50 hours, to be completed within one month/four weeks) at the labs in Ambala or Gurugram, before appearing for the 2nd test. Minimum 75% attendance is compulsory. A security deposit of ₹1,500 (refundable) is payable after clearing the 1st test.
- 2nd Test - Practical/Project Test: Candidates who complete training with minimum 75% attendance are eligible to appear. A maximum of 2 attempts is allowed for the 2nd test against a single advertisement, and training may be undergone a maximum of two times.
- Panel Preparation: Merit is prepared giving equal weightage to the 1st (Domain Knowledge) and 2nd (Practical) tests. A separate panel is made for each reserved category among candidates who clear the 2nd test, and deployment follows the reservation roster.
The ₹1,500 security deposit is refunded if the candidate attends training with at least 75% attendance, clears the 2nd test within the permitted attempts, and does not damage any hardware or property of the corporation. A candidate once placed on the panel for a post cannot re-apply for that post for at least 6 months.

Hartron Junior Programmer Reservation & Other Important Conditions
- Reservation benefits follow Haryana Government instructions (letter No. 22/10/2013-1GS-III dated 15.07.2014, and subsequent amendments up to the date of advertisement).
- Reservation benefit is available only to SC/BCA/BCB/EWS/PwD/ESM candidates who are bonafide residents of Haryana and hold supporting documents as on the last date of application; without such proof, candidature is considered under the General/parent category.
- EWS certificates must be as per Haryana Government's own criteria - EWS certificates issued for Central Government jobs are not accepted.
- Ex-servicemen (ESM) and their family members' reservation benefit follows Haryana Government instructions No. 12/15/2019-4GS-II dated 09.03.2022 and 13.04.2022, including detailed conditions on prior use of reservation benefit, family-member eligibility, and priority order among disabled ESM, family of disabled ESM, other ESM, and their family members.
- Freedom Fighter children/grandchildren reservation benefit follows Government Instruction No. 22/49/2021-1GS-III dated 27.10.2021 and 26.04.2022, subject to a certificate from the competent authority.
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities eligible for a scribe get 20 minutes per hour of compensatory time (5 minutes for Data Entry Operator posts); relevant documents must be produced when required.
