Age Limit

Essential Qualification and Experience

M.Tech./M.E. (Agricultural Engineering/Mechanical/Electronics Engineering/Manufacturing Engineering) with a 4/5 years Bachelor's degree. Candidates should also have qualified NET (ICAR/UGC/CSIR) or GATE, with two years of research experience.

Desirable

• Expertise in agro-machine fabrication
• CAD for mechanical/electronic circuit development
• Computer programming: C, Python and Android Application programming

Selection Process

Selection is by interview. The notice says eligible candidates may attend an offline interview on 23 November 2026 at 10:00 AM in the Conference Room, Division of Agricultural Engineering, IARI, Pusa, New Delhi. The institute will also tell applicants the mode of interview in advance by email or SMS, so applicants must have a working email address and mobile number. If candidates are given online slots, they must be available in their slot. Candidates who do not respond after repeated calls may not ordinarily be considered. The decision of the Joint Director (Research), ICAR-IARI, New Delhi will be final and binding in all respects.

Service Conditions

• The appointment is purely temporary and on a contractual basis. It ends with the project.
• It is offered initially for one year, or until the project tenure ends or the project is terminated, whichever is earlier. It can be extended for the rest of the project if performance is satisfactory.
• Selected candidates cannot claim a regular appointment or absorption in IARI or ICAR.
• Indiscipline or failure to carry out assigned duties can lead to termination under ICAR rules.
• The JRF gets no regular leave. CL and RH are allowed up to (8+2) = 10 days a year.
• The JRF is a full-time worker and must follow the administrative, financial and disciplinary rules of ICAR-IARI. Attendance is recorded in an attendance register.
