UCEED 2026 continues to be open to candidates from all educational streams, reflecting its commitment to interdisciplinary design education. The exam comprises two sections: Part A (computer-based, objective questions) and Part B (pen-and-paper drawing/design aptitude tasks), with a total duration of three hours. Only UCEED-qualified candidates are eligible to apply for the B.Des joint seat allocation, which is managed separately by the participating institutes after exam results are announced in March 2026

- Age Limit: OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL candidates—born on or after October 1, 2001; SC/ST/PwD—on or after October 1, 1996
- Attempts: Maximum twice, in consecutive years
- Qualifying Exams: Must have appeared for Class 12 (or equivalent) in 2025 or 2026
- Streams: Any stream (Science, Commerce, Arts)
