IIT JAM 2026 Answer Key (Out) – Download Subject-Wise PDF, Raise Objections, Calculate Score

The IIT JAM 2026 Answer Key (provisional) has been released by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay on February 24, 2026. Candidates who appeared for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) can now access and download it through the JOAPS portal at joaps.iitb.ac.in, linked from the official website jam2026.iitb.ac.in.

Log in using your enrolment ID (or registered email ID) and password to view the subject-wise provisional answer key, your response sheet, and raise objections if needed. This provisional key allows you to compare your responses, estimate probable scores, and challenge discrepancies before the final key is prepared.

The objection window is currently live and remains open until 11:59:59 PM on February 27, 2026. Results, based on the final answer key, are scheduled for March 20, 2026.

How to Download IIT JAM Answer Key 2026 (Step-by-Step)

1. Visit the official IIT JAM website: jam2026.iitb.ac.in.
2. Click on the JOAPS candidate login link.
3. Enter your enrolment ID (or registered email ID) and password.
4. Complete the security question or captcha and submit.
5. On the dashboard, locate and click on the Answer Key / Response Sheet section for IIT JAM 2026.
6. Select your subject paper and download the answer key PDF.

Note: Provisional keys are login-only. Master question papers with final keys may be publicly hosted later (as seen in previous years).

To calculate scores accurately, you need:

How to Calculate Score Using IIT JAM 2026 Answer Key

IIT JAM has three sections:

• Section A (MCQs): 10 × 1 mark + 20 × 2 marks. Negative marking: -1/3 (1-mark wrong), -2/3 (2-mark wrong).
• Section B (MSQs): No negative or partial marking.
• Section C (NAT): No negative marking.

Steps to calculate:

1. Count correct answers per mark category.
2. Add marks: (Correct 1-mark × 1) + (Correct 2-mark × 2) + MSQ/NAT marks.
3. Subtract negatives only from Section A wrong answers.
4. Total = Raw score (out of 100).

Example: 18 correct 1-mark MCQs (18) – 2 wrong (-4/3) + 15 correct 2-mark MCQs (30) – 1 wrong (-2/3) + full MSQ/NAT = approximate score after applying negatives.

IIT JAM 2026 Answer Key Objection Process

Challenge window: Open on JOAPS until 11:59:59 PM, February 27, 2026.

• Fee: Typically ₹500 per question (refundable if accepted – confirm on portal).
