IIT Mandi Junior Research Fellow Recruitment 2026 Overview
Eligibility Criteria
- Qualification: B. Tech. (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering / Electrical and Electronics Engineering / Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering.
- Essential Qualification: M. Tech. (or equivalent) in Power Electronics and Drives (or equivalent) / Power Electronics / Control Systems Engineering / Power System Engineering (or equivalent) / Electrical Machines (or equivalent).
- Academic Requirement: 60% or 6.0 CGPA throughout.
- Additional Requirement: GATE Qualified in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation Engineering.
Salary / Stipend
- Consolidated salary of Rs 37000 per month plus HRA as applicable.
- The position is on temporary basis with consolidated salary and renewal based on satisfactory performance and project duration.
Age Limit
- Not more than 30 years (will be calculated based on the last date of application).
- Relaxation of marks may be granted to SC/ST candidates as per Government of India norms; in case of selection of a retired/superannuated government employee, salary will be fixed as per prevailing Government of India rules/norms.

General Information / Instructions
- The position is under the project titled “Ultra High Efficient Compact Power Converters for Radio Frequency (RF) Communication System” funded by the Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS), Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India.
- The initial appointment will be for a period of 12 months or till the end of the project, whichever is earlier, with possible renewal based on satisfactory performance.
