Eligibility Criteria
Project Associate-I (URBMET2024-004): Master’s degree in science (Physics, Chemistry, Atmospheric Physics /Environmental sciences/Atmospheric Sciences/Meteorology) from a recognized University or equivalent.
Desirable: Experience with atmospheric data analysis, Numerical Models, Programming skills with Fortran/ Python / C or C++. Experience with simulations of atmospheric flows using mesoscale models.
Project Associate-I (MAQWS2025-001): Master’s degree in science with Atmospheric Science / Physics / Meteorology / Atmospheric Physics / Environmental Sciences from a recognized university or equivalent.
Desirable: Experience of handling atmospheric chemistry instruments.
Project Associate-I (ACRM-001): Master’s Degree in Physics/ Mathematics/ Meteorology/ Oceanography/ Atmospheric Sciences/ Statistics from a recognized University or equivalent. OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or Equivalent.
Desirable: Good command in English and working knowledge of Hindi.
Project Associate-I (NMM2024-001): Master’s Degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Atmospheric Sciences, Meteorology, Oceanography, Climate Science, Geophysics with Meteorology as one of the subject/ Environmental Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent. OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent.
Desirable: Knowledge in Fortran, software such as GrADS, NCL, etc and background knowledge in monsoon and its variability.
Project Associate-I (ART_Bhopal2021-009): Master’s Degree in (instrumentation/ Physics/ Meteorology/ Atmospheric Science/ Electricals) from a recognized University or equivalent. OR Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology (Electrical/Electronics) from a recognized University or equivalent.
Desirable: Exposure to meteorological data handling and analysis. Exposure to meteorological instruments.
Senior Project Associate (CAIPEEX2025-003): Master’s degree in physics/ chemistry/ mathematics/ applied physics/ geology/ applied geology/ atmospheric science/ meteorology from a recognized University or equivalent. AND Four years’ experience with data analysis, instrument handling and maintenance.
Desirable: Experience with weather instrument handling such as AWS, Radar, wind profiler, sodar, CCN counter, etc. Programming skills with Fortran/ Python / C or C++.
Senior Project Associate (MAQWS2025-003): Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology with Atmospheric Science/ Climate Science/ Earth Science System and Technology/ Geoinformatics/ GIS Remote Sensing or any equivalent subject from a recognized university or equivalent. OR Master’s degree in Science with Physics / Mathematics / Atmospheric Sciences/Environmental Sciences / Geophysics (Meteorology) / Computer Science / Environmental Science or any equivalent subject from a recognized University or equivalent. AND Four years of experience in processing geospatial data.
Desirable: Experience in handling large volumes of data & programming using MATLAB / Python / IDL / FORTRAN/ ArcGIS/ QGIS.
Senior Project Associate (GA2026-001): Bachelor degree in Engineering & Technology (Civil) from a recognized University or equivalent. ii) Four years of work experience. OR ME/ M. Tech in Engineering & Technology (Civil) from a recognized University or equivalent with 02 years of work experience.
Desirable: Knowledge of CPWD works manual and DSR. Work experience on Auto CAD and Microsoft Project.
Associate Engineer (Civil): B. E./ B. Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/ Institute with at least 60% marks. AND A minimum of 03 years of work experience in planning, preparing of work estimate, labour management, work supervision and billing for civil contract and maintenance works.
Desirable: Work experience on Auto CAD and Microsoft Project. Knowledge of CPWD works manual and DSR.
Salary/ Stipend

General Information / Instructions
The appointment is purely on a temporary and contract basis initially for a period of one year or co-terminus with the project period whichever is earlier. The current tenure of the Project is upto 31.03.2026. Extension of tenure is subject to satisfactory performance.
Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria only should attend walk-in-interview along with the duly filled in proforma.
Only Indian Nationals are eligible for these posts.
The date of the interview is the cut-off date for all purposes, including age/ qualification/ experience etc. Upper age limit is relaxed as per GOI orders for SC/ST, OBC & physically handicapped and as per rule for ex-servicemen.
Desirable qualifications and experience can be relaxed at the discretion of the Director in case of exceptionally good candidates.
Selected candidate may have to join the post immediately on being found fit by Medical Authority.
Director, IITM reserves the right to fill-up or not to fill up the posts advertised without assigning any reasons thereof.
The number of vacancies mentioned in the advertisement may vary depending upon the requirements of the project.
The Competent Authority of this Institute reserves the right to terminate the appointment of the above post by giving one month's notice to the appointee without assigning any reason thereof.
