Indian Army Sports Quota 2025 - Sports Disciplines & Vacancy Details

The Indian Army is recruiting outstanding sportspersons in 23 different sporting disciplines. Candidates must have participated at International/National Championship/Khelo India Games from 01 October 2023 or after.

Eligibility Criteria for Indian Army Sports Quota 2025

1. Educational Qualification

For Both Direct Entry Havildar & Naib Subedar:

• Minimum educational qualification: Matriculation (10th Pass)
• From recognized School/College/Board/University
• Provision/online education certificate should be certified with ink signature by head of educational institution
• Candidates with matric certificate from open school should bring school leaving certificate countersigned by EO/DEO

2. Age Limit

For Direct Entry Havildar:

• Age Range: 17½ to 25 years
• Should have completed 17½ years on the first day of enrollment period
• Must not have crossed 25 years on the last day of enrollment period
• Date of Birth Block: Candidates born between 31 March 2001 to 01 April 2008 (both dates inclusive) are eligible

For Direct Entry Naib Subedar:

• Age Range: 17½ to 25 years
• Should have completed 17½ years on the first day of enrollment period
• Must not have crossed 25 years on the last day of enrollment period
• Date of Birth Block: Candidates born between 31 March 2001 to 01 April 2008 (both dates inclusive) are eligible

3. Sports Achievements

For Direct Entry Havildar:

Individual Events:

• Should be a Medalist at Junior/Senior level by representing State in National championship
• OR Should have represented Country at International level

Team Events:

• Should have represented State or Country in National or International competitions at Junior/Senior level

Khelo India Games:

• Should be a Medalist in Khelo India Games & Khelo India Youth Games & Khelo India University Games

For Direct Entry Naib Subedar:

• Winner of any medal in World Championship/Asian Championships
• Winner of any medal in Asian Games
• Winner of any medal in CWG/World Cup
• Represented India twice in Asian Games/Commonwealth Games/World Cup
• Represented India in Olympics

4. Marital Status

• Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible
• Unmarried certificate with photograph issued by Village Sarpanch/Municipal Corporation within last six months is mandatory

5. Nationality

• Candidate must be an Indian Citizen

6. Physical and Medical Standards

• As per Army Service norms
• Medical examination conducted by Army Medical Team at trials site
• Physical Standards Test and Physical Fitness Test mandatory

Note: Waiver in physical standards and tests for both male and female can be given for exceptional talent.

Selection Process for Indian Army Sports Quota 2025

The selection process for Indian Army Sports Quota recruitment consists of the following stages:

1. Application Submission: Submit filled application form by post with all required documents
2. Short-Listing: Based on higher sports achievements
3. Call-Up Letter: Eligible short-listed candidates will receive call-up letters via email
4. Physical Fitness Test: 1.6 Km Run, Ditch/Long Jump, Zig-Zag Balance/High Jump
5. Physical Standards Test: Height, Weight, Chest measurement verification
6. Skill Test: Sports-specific skill test in respective discipline
7. Medical Examination: Conducted at trials site itself by Army Medical Team
8. Final Selection: Based on available vacancies in particular sports disciplines

Important Points about Selection:

• Candidates qualifying Physical Fitness Test, Physical Standards Test and Skill Test will undergo medical examination
• Offer of enrolment will be forwarded to selected candidates only
• Selection strictly determined by requirement in particular sports disciplines and availability of vacancies
• Request for change of venue of selection trials will not be entertained
• Recruitment is purely based on merit depending on available vacancies
• Selection is fair, transparent and on merit only - no bribe required at any stage

Medical Examination Details

• Medical examination as per Army Medical standards and policy
• Unfit candidates referred to Military Hospital for specialist review within 05 days
• Review medical exam completed by Military Hospital within 07 days
• Recruitment medical officer and specialist doctors are final authorities on fitness declaration
• No provision for representation or appeal after review medical examination
• Passing medical examination is not a guarantee for employment in Indian Army

Application Fee for Indian Army Sports Quota 2025

NO APPLICATION FEE

There is no application fee for Indian Army Sports Quota Recruitment 2025. However:

• No Travelling Allowance/Dearness Allowance for journey is admissible
• No compensation for Death/Injury/loss during trials
• Candidates participate in Selection Trials at their own risk
• Participation is totally and entirely voluntary
• Signing of Indemnity Bond is mandatory

Pay and Allowances

Pay & allowances for Direct Entry Havildar and Naib Subedar shall be same as applicable to existing Regular Serving Personnel of Indian Army as per provision of Army Pay Rules, 2017 and amendments.

Rank-wise Pay Structure:

• Havildar: As per Army Pay Rules 2017
• Naib Subedar: As per Army Pay Rules 2017
• All allowances including DA, HRA, Transport Allowance, etc. as applicable

Step-by-Step Application Procedure:

1. Download Application Form:

   • Download the application form from the website
   • Take print on A4 size paper ONLY
2. Fill Application Form Carefully:
   • Fill in BLOCK CAPITALS as per Matriculation Certificate
   • Name, Father's Name, Mother's Name and DOB exactly as per 10th certificate
   • Complete all sections properly
   • Affix recent passport size colour photograph
   • Put signature and thumb impression
   • Must provide personal email ID and mobile number (sharing not permitted)
   • Ensure Aadhar details match with documents and application
3. Attach Required Documents (Self-Attested):
   • Self-attested copy of Matriculation certificate
   • Self-attested copy of Aadhar Card
   • Self-attested copy of Sports Certificates
   • All sports achievement certificates from 01 Oct 2023 onwards

CRITICAL INSTRUCTIONS:

• Only ONE application per candidate - multiple applications will be disqualified
• Non-standard application forms will be rejected
• Incomplete applications will not be accepted
• Repetition of dak from individual's address or re-submission through different address liable to be rejected
• Application must be complete in all respects with signature, thumb impression & photograph
• No variation in Date of Birth & spelling of Name will be accepted

Documents Required at Time of Selection Trials

Candidates must bring the following ORIGINAL documents during selection trials:

1. Photographs: 20 copies of recent (not more than one month old) passport size colour photographs on good quality photographic paper with white background. Proper haircut and clean shave (except Sikh candidates). Computerized/photocopied/photo shopped photographs NOT accepted
2. Education Certificates:
   • Education certificate with marks sheet (Matric/Intermediate) from recognized School/College/Board/University
   • Provision/online certificate certified in ink by head of institution
   • Open school candidates: School leaving certificate countersigned by EO/DEO
3. Domicile Certificate: With photograph issued by Tehsildar/District Magistrate
4. Caste Certificate: Affixed with photograph issued by Tehsildar/District Magistrate
5. Religion Certificate: Issued by Tehsildar/SDM (if religion not mentioned in caste certificate)
6. School Character Certificate: Issued by School/College Principal/Headmaster where candidate last studied
7. Character Certificate: With photograph issued by Village Sarpanch/Municipal Corporation within last six months
8. Unmarried Certificate: With photograph issued by Village Sarpanch/Municipal Corporation within last six months
9. For Serving/Discharged Candidates:
   • Original Discharge Certificate (from Indian Air Force/Navy/Govt Organization) - subject to NO adverse entry
   • NOC in original from employer (if presently serving)
10. Sports Kit: Candidates to bring their own sports gear and equipment
11. Aadhar Card: Must carry for biometric authentication
12. Admit Card: In duplicate (sent online through [email protected])
13. Body Tattoos: If any, submit two postcard size photographs (close up and distant view) with details of size and type

IMPORTANT: Under no circumstances shall candidates be permitted to appear in Trials without Original Educational marks sheets/Passing Certificates & Documents. However, candidates with photocopies may be permitted only on production of ink signed certificate in original from College/School Principal certifying that certificates are deposited with College/School.

Important Dates for Indian Army Sports Quota 2025

Important Notes:

• Selection trial is valid for Intake 05/2025 ONLY
• All important messages sent to registered email ID/Mobile Number
• Candidates must check email and website regularly for updates
• No enquiry will be entertained regarding recruitment/enrolment after a period of six months

General Instructions & Important Information

Mandatory Requirements

• Unmarried Status: Only unmarried candidates eligible - certificate mandatory
• Clean Shaven: Candidates should be clean shaven (except Sikh candidates)
• Sikh Candidates: Those retaining beard and moustache as per religion must get photographs accordingly
• Report on Time: Report at Selection Trials Site by 0600 hours on scheduled date - late arrivals not permitted
• Stay Arrangements: Candidates must make their own arrangements for stay (may need to present 2-3 times)
• No Mobile Phones: Not permitted at Selection Trials Site

Body Tattoos Policy

• Permanent body tattoos permitted on: Inner face of forearms, back of hand/reverse side of palm
• Tribal tattoos as per customs and traditions permitted
• Offensive, obscene, indecent, sexist or racist tattoos prohibited
• Right to consider tattoo acceptable/unacceptable rests with selection centre
• Submit two postcard size photographs (close up and distant view) with tattoo details

Drug & Substance Abuse Policy

• ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY to alcoholism and substance abuse in Indian Army
• Consumption of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances banned under NDPS Act 1985 is rejection criteria
• Candidates found in possession/consuming such drugs liable for disciplinary action including dismissal
• Use of performance enhancing drugs strictly banned
• Any candidate found under influence of dope will be disqualified immediately

Training Details

• Initial Training: Conducted at designated Regimental Centre
• Professional Training: In allotted trade at various Army Training Establishments
• Branch/Trade: Allocated as per requirement of Service
• Probationary Period: 3 years for all sportsmen
• Discharge as Unsuitable: Liable at any time during training for unsatisfactory performance
• Liable to be discharged if sports performance does not improve in 3-year probation period

Service Conditions

• Liable for service in any part of the world
• May be assigned any duty in organizational interest
• Can be assigned academic or administrative responsibilities
• Reserve liability as applicable to existing JCOs/OR

Disqualification Criteria

• Candidates discharged from Indian Army for any reason NOT eligible
• Candidates from Air Force/Navy/Govt Organizations eligible only with NO ADVERSE ENTRIES
• Must declare previous employment at trials and produce original discharge certificate
• Serving individuals must possess NOC from employer
• Non-disclosure of employment/discharge facts leads to cancellation at any stage

Important Warnings

• Beware of Touts/Agents: Selection is fair, transparent and on merit ONLY
• No Bribe Required: At no stage any bribe required for selection
• Candidates should not fall prey to unscrupulous persons posing as recruiting/selecting agents
• Fake Certificates: Strong legal action against individuals submitting fake documents
• Services terminated if fake documents found even after years of service
• Certificates with Overwriting: Tampering of seals or erasing/alteration not accepted

Medical Examination Guidelines

• Candidates advised to undergo medical exam before coming for selection
• Check especially for: flat foot, poor vision, deformities, physical measurements
• Ensure ears are free of wax by getting cleaned by doctor
• No use of contact lenses
• Army standards may vary from civil standards
• Passing medical exam is NOT a guarantee for employment

Review Medical Examination

• Medically Temporary Unfit: Can avail specialist review from Military Hospital within 21 days
• Medically Permanent Unfit: Can appeal for specialist opinion within 21 days on payment of Rs. 10/- by MRO
• No further review/appeal permissible after specialist review
