Qualification Requirements
- Technician Apprentice (Mechanical): Three years full time Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Automobile Engineering. Lateral entry candidates after Class-XII (Sc)/ITI admitted in 2nd year of Diploma course are also eligible.
- Technician Apprentice (Electrical): Three years full time Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Lateral entry candidates after Class-XII (Sc)/ITI admitted in 2nd year of Diploma course are also eligible.
- Technician Apprentice (Telecommunication & Instrumentation): Three years full time Diploma in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Electronics & Radio Communication Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Instrumentation & Process Control Engineering, or Electronics Engineering from a Government recognized Institute. Lateral entry candidates after Class-XII (Sc)/ITI admitted in 2nd year of Diploma course are also eligible.
- Trade Apprentice (Assistant-Human Resource): Full Time Bachelor degree (Graduation) from a Government recognized Institute/University.
- Trade Apprentice (Accountant): Full Time Bachelor degree (Graduation) in Commerce from a Government recognized Institute/University.
- Data Entry Operator (Fresher Apprentices): Minimum 12th Pass (but below Graduate).
- Domestic Data Entry Operator (Skill Certificate Holders): Minimum 12th Pass (but below Graduate). Additionally, candidates should possess Skill Certificate of Domestic Data Entry Operator for training of less than one year issued by an awarding body recognized under National Skill Qualifications Framework or any other authority recognized by the Central Government.
Essential Qualifications
- Candidate should have already passed the prescribed qualification on the date of reckoning eligibility criteria which is 31/01/2026.
- Candidates whose result of the qualifying examination is awaited on the date of reckoning eligibility criteria are not eligible to apply.
- The prescribed qualification for Graduate/Diploma holders shall be from a recognized University/Institute as a regular full-time course in the relevant trade/discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST and PwBD category candidates for the posts reserved for them).
- Candidates holding a qualification acquired through part-time/correspondence/distance education mode are not eligible.
- Candidates possessing higher professional qualifications such as BE/B.Tech., MBA, CA, LLB, MCA, or any such equivalent qualification or pursuing higher qualification and having completed the same on or before joining apprenticeship training, shall not be eligible.
- Wherever CGPA/OGPA or Letter Grade is awarded in the ITI/Degree/Diploma examinations, its equivalent aggregate percentage of marks must be indicated by the candidates in the Online Application as per the norms adopted by Board/University/Institute.
Experience
- Candidates having job experience for a period of one year or more after the attainment of the qualification shall not be eligible to be engaged as Apprentice.
- Candidates who have completed five years after acquiring the prescribed qualification as on date of reckoning eligibility criteria shall also not be eligible for engagement as Apprentices.
- A Candidate may undergo maximum two apprenticeship training and the second training shall not be in the same trade. There shall be minimum one year gap between two apprenticeship training, provided that the previous training is completed.
Salary/Stipend
- Rate of stipend payable to apprentices per month shall be as prescribed under Apprentices Act, 1961/1973.
- The stipend will be in accordance with The Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 read with The Apprenticeship (Amendment) Rules, 2019 & 2025 as amended from time to time and Corporation's guidelines.
- During the period of Apprenticeship, apart from monthly stipend as prescribed above, no other monetary or non-monetary benefit/facility such as accommodation, HRA, conveyance, medical facility etc. shall be admissible to apprentices.
- Candidates have to make their own arrangement for accommodation, conveyance, medical etc.
- Duration of Apprenticeship Training: 12 months from the date of engagement.
Age Limit (as on 31/01/2026)
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 24 years
- Age Relaxation for SC/ST: Relaxation in upper age up to 5 years to SC/ST candidates considered against reserved positions will be allowed.
- Age Relaxation for OBC (NCL): Relaxation in upper age up to 3 years to OBC (NCL) candidates considered against reserved positions will be allowed.
- Age Relaxation for PwBD: Relaxation in upper age up to 10 years for PwBD candidates will be allowed irrespective of reservation of posts to them.
- Age Relaxation for PwBD-SC/ST: Further, upper age relaxation of 5 years to PwBD candidates belonging to SC/ST category will be allowed.
- Age Relaxation for PwBD-OBC(NCL): Upper age relaxation of 3 years to PwBD-OBC(NCL) candidates will be allowed.
Application Fee
- No application fee is mentioned in the official notification.
Important Dates
Selection Process
- Candidates registered in the NAPS/NATS Portal and applying against the notification shall be considered for selection.
- Panel cum Merit List of all the candidates, who have applied against a respective post in the portal and meeting the notified eligibility criteria, shall be prepared based on the percentage of marks in descending order obtained in the essential qualification applicable to the trade applied for.
- Aggregate of marks of all subjects of all years/semesters will be considered for eligibility.
- In case of a similar rank in merit based on the percentage of marks obtained in the essential qualifying examination, a candidate with an earlier date of birth (older in age) shall be considered. In case of same date of birth, candidates having a higher percentage of marks in Matriculation shall be considered.
- There shall be No Written Test or Personal Interview.
- In case a reserved seat remains unfilled, the same shall be reallocated in the following order of priority: first to SC, then to ST, thereafter to OBC, followed by EWS, and finally to UR.
- Verification of the original documents shall be done before joining of the candidate as an Apprentice.
- Engagement of selected candidates is subject to their being declared medically fit as per the requirement of the Corporation.
General Information/Instructions
- Reservation of seats to SC/ST/OBC (Non Creamy Layer-NCL)/PwBD/Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates shall be as per the applicable Government guidelines.
- The minimum prescribed qualification marks will be relaxed by 5% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD categories considered against reserved positions.
- In case of candidates belonging to OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) category, name of OBC caste mentioned in the certificate should fall in the Central List of OBCs of the respective State and Non-Creamy Layer status should be valid as on cut-off date of reckoning eligibility criteria.
- Candidates are advised to ensure that they are Medically Fit as per IndianOil's pre-engagement medical standard.
- The trades are suitable for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, with minimum 40% disability.
- Candidates can apply for one Trade Code ONLY. Candidates applying for more than one Trade Code will not be considered for any post and their applications will be summarily rejected.
- Only one mobile number and one email ID can be used for applying for the post. The same mobile number and email ID cannot be used by any other candidate for filling online application for this notification.
- Candidates, who are pursuing higher qualification on the date of final submission of online application but have acquired/completed the same subsequently at the time of document verification, shall also not be eligible for engagement and shall not be allowed to Join.
- Suppression of information regarding possession or pursuing higher qualification shall render a candidate ineligible for consideration at any stage of selection & termination any time during engagement, if engaged.
- The terms and conditions of engagement of the apprentices shall be governed by The Apprentices Act, 1961 and Rules 1992 as amended from time to time.
- Upon completion of the apprenticeship period, the Corporation shall have NO obligation to offer employment to such Apprentices NOR can an Apprentice claim the right for employment on the grounds of completion of Apprenticeship.
- Candidates are advised to maintain the same registered e-mail ID and mobile number till the completion of apprenticeship training.

- Step 1: Candidates willing to apply must register as a Technician/Trade/Graduate Apprentice online in the following portals under the respective State as per their Trades:

- Step 3: Candidates must complete the application for Openings/Opportunities in respective NATS/NAPS Portal from 28/01/2026 to 10/02/2026. Before applying against an opportunity, the candidate MUST ensure that their profile (Personal details, Educational details, Category etc.) along with aggregate percentage are appearing correctly in their application.
- Step 4: After applying against an opportunity in the respective NAPS/NATS Portal, the candidate must complete their registration/application for apprentice positions in Indian Oil Pipelines portal at https://plapps.indianoilpipelines.in/
- Step 5: The candidate must use the same e-mail ID and Mobile Number used in respective NAPS/NATS Portal which must be valid for the entire apprenticeship period.
- Step 6: There are two steps for Registration process (Part-I & Part-II) in Indian Oil Pipelines portal:
- Part-I Registration: Candidate must fill their basic details like name, category etc. and must create their own password. After successful Part-I registration, system generated registration number is sent to their registered email id/SMS.
- Part-II Registration: Candidates must upload their scanned photograph (Size: between 20-50 KB in JPG Format) and signature in black ink (Size: between 10-30 KB in JPG Format) and furnish educational qualification, experience details etc. and submit the same. This is the final submission process and after that candidates cannot change the details furnished.
- Step 7: Candidates must complete the application process in Indian Oil Pipelines portal at https://plapps.indianoilpipelines.in/ from 28/01/2026 to 10/02/2026.
- Step 8: The candidate must mention the registration/enrolment number of NAPS/NATS Portal while applying for apprentice positions in Indian Oil Pipelines Portal.
- Step 9: After successfully applying/registration of Online Application in Indian Oil Pipelines Portal, the candidate must take a printout of the filled-in online application for future reference.
- Important: No other means/mode of application shall be accepted other than what is mentioned above. Candidates to ensure that they have successfully applied for the relevant opportunity through respective NAPS/NATS Portal BEFORE applying/registration in Indian Oil Pipelines Portal.
- Applications/Registration which are incomplete or are received in any other mode/form or not fulfilling the eligibility criteria and/or those received after the last date of submission of application shall not be considered "Eligible" and treated as "Rejected".
