JEE Main 2026 Eligibility Criteria

JEE Main 2026 eligibility criteria require candidates to have passed their Class 12 (or equivalent) exam in 2024 or 2025, or to be appearing for it in 2026. There is no upper age limit to appear for the exam, and all Indian citizens, as well as NRIs, OCIs, and PIOs, may apply.

Minimum academic requirements include Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or Technical Vocational subject in Class 12. While there is no minimum qualifying percentage for appearing in JEE Main, for admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, General/OBC/EWS candidates must have at least 75% marks in Class 12 (or be in the top 20 percentile of their boards), and SC/ST category candidates must have at least 65%.
