JEE Main 2026 Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Must have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) in 2024, 2025, or appearing in 2026, with 5 subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics.
- Minimum Marks: 75% marks in Class 12 (65% for SC/ST) for admission to IITs/NITs/IIITs/GFTIs.
- Age Limit: No age limit.
- Number of Attempts: Six attempts allowed over three consecutive years. Candidates can appear in both January and April sessions each year.

JEE Main 2026 Documents required
- Recent passport-size photograph (as per NTA size and background guidelines), to be uploaded in JPG/JPEG format.
- Scanned signature of the candidate in JPG/JPEG format within the size limits mentioned in the information bulletin.
- Class 10 marksheet or certificate as proof of date of birth and basic qualification.
- Valid photo ID proof such as Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, Voter ID, School ID, etc., as specified by NTA.

JEE Main 2026 Step-by-Step Registration Process
Step 1: Visit official website
- Go to the official JEE Main portal: jeemain.nta.nic.in.
- Click on the link for “JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Registration / Apply Online”.
Step 2: New registration
- Select “New Candidate Registration” and read the information bulletin and instructions.
- Enter basic details (name, DOB, mobile, email, security question), generate Application Number, and create a password.
Step 3: Fill application form
- Log in using Application Number and password and open “Complete Application Form”.
- Fill personal details, address, exam cities, paper (B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Planning), and academic details as per Class 10/12 records.
Step 4: Upload documents
- Upload scanned passport-size photograph and signature in the prescribed size and format.
- Upload category/PwD/other certificates if applicable, exactly as per NTA guidelines.
Step 5: Pay application fee
- Proceed to fee payment via debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI on the payment gateway.
- After successful payment, wait for confirmation; do not press back/refresh until the status shows “OK / Success”.
Step 6: Final submit and print

- Download and print the confirmation page and keep it safely for admit card, result, and counselling processes.
