The total number of vacancies for JIPMER Project Technical Support-III Recruitment 2026 is 1 posts. One post is under the project “Identification of Novel Extracellular Vesicle-Associated Bacterial Antigens and Host Biomarkers in Bacterial Pneumonia”, and one post is under the project “Development of a Nanopore-based long read sequencing panel for culture-free detection of drug resistance in Mycobacterium tuberculosis”.

Note: Each position is intended for one candidate only.

Eligibility Criteria 

1. Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess B.Sc. (Medical Laboratory Technology) or BMLS (Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science) with three years of research experience or PG in a relevant field or subject to apply for the Project Technical Support-III positions.

Desirable qualifications include field experience at the time of sample collection, fluency in reading, writing and speaking Tamil, and computer knowledge (MS Excel and MS Word).

2. Age Limit

The maximum age limit for JIPMER Project Technical Support-III Recruitment 2026 is 35 years as on the last date of receipt of applications. Age relaxation will be applicable to various categories in accordance with Government of India instructions.nt.

Selection Process

The recruitment process will be carried out after evaluation of the application form, CV and supporting documents submitted by the candidates. Applicants will be shortlisted based on the details furnished in the application, CV and documentary proof provided, and the list of eligible candidates will be displayed on the JIPMER website tentatively on or before 05/02/2026.

The final selection will be based on CV, application and written test/interview. Shortlisted candidates must report for document verification followed by a written test and an interview on the notified date and time at the Department of Microbiology, JIPMER.

Instructions

• This position is purely on contract basis for an externally sponsored project, and the person engaged will have no claim to any regular post in JIPMER at any time.
• The position is only for the duration of the project and is based purely on external funding support; engagement may be extended or curtailed at the discretion of the Project Investigator.
• Qualification and experience should be in a relevant discipline/field and from a reputed institution/organization, and the experience should have been gained after acquiring the essential qualification.
• Qualification, experience and other terms and conditions may be relaxed or altered at the discretion of the Principal Investigator.
• A valid email ID and mobile number are compulsory.
• Consolidated salary of the post may vary from time to time; no other allowance or facilities apart from the consolidated salary will be extended.
• Submission of wrong or false information at any stage or canvassing of any kind will lead to disqualification or termination if detected after engagement.
• Only shortlisted candidates will be called for written test and/or interview; if the number of applications is very large, more stringent criteria than those specified may be used to determine eligibility.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
• Incomplete applications, applications not in the prescribed format and applications not fulfilling the essential criteria are likely to be summarily rejected; applications with CV alone without the prescribed form and certificates will also be rejected.

Salary/Stipend

The consolidated remuneration for the Project Technical Support-III post is INR 33,600 per month (INR 28,000 + 20% HRA) for each position.
