Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: Matriculation from a recognized Board
• Domicile: Candidate must be domicile of Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir with valid Domicile Certificate issued by Competent Authority
• Nationality: Candidates must be citizen of India
• Physical Standards for Males:
  • Height: 5 feet 6 inches (minimum)
  • Chest (unexpanded): 32 inches
  • Chest (expanded): 33½ inches
• Physical Standards for Females:
  • Height: 5 feet 2 inches (minimum)
• Height Relaxation: For candidates belonging to Gorkha Community/Bot Tribe, minimum height relaxable by 2 inches
• Medical Fitness: Selected candidates will be medically examined to assess their physical and medical fitness
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): Not eligible for these posts

Salary/Stipend

• Pay Scale: Level-2 in the Pay Matrix
• Salary Range: Rs. 19,900 - Rs. 63,200 per month
• Applicable For: Both Constable (Armed/IRP) and Constable (SDRF) posts

Age Limit

• Open Merit (OM): 18 to 28 years (Not born before 01.01.1997 and not born after 01.01.2007)
• SC/ST-1/ST-2/RBA/ALC/IB/EWS/OBC: 18 to 28 years
• In-Service Police Personnel: 18 to 30 years (Not born before 01.01.1995)
• SPOs and Volunteer Home Guards (VHGs): 18 to 40 years (Not born before 01.01.1985)
• Ex-Servicemen: Allowed to deduct period of service from actual age. If resultant age does not exceed maximum age limit by more than 3 years, shall be deemed to satisfy age condition
• All Categories: Candidate should not be born after 01.01.2007

Selection Process

• Stage 1 - Written Examination:
  • Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions
  • Questions will be set in English Language only
  • Negative marking: One-fourth marks deduction for each wrong answer
  • NCC Bonus Marks: 5% for 'C' Certificate, 3% for 'B' Certificate, 2% for 'A' Certificate
• Stage 2 - Physical Standard Test (PST):
  • Qualifying nature only
  • Candidates shortlisted: Six times the total vacancies in each category based on written test merit
  • Male: Height 5'-6", Chest 32" (unexpanded), 33½" (expanded)
  • Female: Height 5'-2"
  • Height relaxation of 2" for Gorkha Community/Bot Tribe
• Stage 3 - Physical Endurance Test (PET):
  • Qualifying nature only
  • Male: 1600 meters race in 6½ minutes, 20 push-ups
  • Female: 1000 meters race in 6½ minutes, Shot put (4 Kgs) 14½ feet in three attempts
  • Relaxed standards for Ex-Servicemen based on age
• Stage 4 - Medical Examination:
  • Selected candidates will be medically examined for physical and medical fitness
• Stage 5 - Document Verification:
  • Shortlisted candidates required to appear with original documents
  • Verification of educational qualification, domicile, category certificates etc.

General Information/Instructions

• Candidature will be accepted provisionally until detailed scrutiny at document verification stage
• Candidates must possess valid Domicile Certificate of UT of J&K issued on or before cut-off date
• All supporting documents must be legally valid on or before last date of application submission
• No TA/DA will be paid for written test or document verification
• Horizontal Reservation: 15% for women candidates, 15% for SPOs, 4% for VHGs
• Ex-Servicemen cannot avail horizontal reservation benefit for subsequent employment after joining any post
• Only one online application per post is allowed - multiple applications will lead to cancellation
• Candidates must write name, DOB, father's name and mother's name as per Matriculation Certificate
• No change/correction in application form allowed after submission
• Use of mobile phones or electronic devices strictly prohibited during examination
• Application without prescribed fee will be summarily rejected
• Syllabus will be notified separately on official website
• Examination details will be uploaded on website - no postal communication
• Candidates must carry two recent passport size color photographs and valid photo ID proof
• Applications with blurred/illegible photograph/signature will be rejected
• Board's decision on all matters shall be final and binding
