Eligibility Criteria
- Qualification
- A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part II of the third schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and registration in State/National Medical Register.
- Postgraduate qualification recognized by NMC (MD/MS/DM/MCh/DNB/DrNB or equivalent from specified countries).
- For non-medical: Doctorate degree from recognized university.
- Specific departmental qualifications as per Table-III in the notification.
- Experience
- Professor: 13 years teaching/research experience after MD/PhD or 10 years after DM/MCh (3 years).
- Associate Professor: 06 years teaching/research experience after MD/PhD or 03 years after DM/MCh.
- Assistant Professor: 03 years teaching/research experience after MD/PhD or 0 years after DM/MCh.
- Additional research publications and completion of Basic Course in Biomedical Research (BCBR) as specified.
Salary/ Stipend
- Professor: ₹2,20,000/- (Consolidated Monthly)
- Associate Professor: ₹1,60,000/- (Consolidated Monthly)
- Assistant Professor: ₹1,20,000/- (Consolidated Monthly)
- No additional allowances/perks for contractual basis.
Age Limit (as on 12 February 2026)
- Professor: No upper age limit, retirement age 65 years (re-employment up to 70 years possible).
- Associate Professor / Assistant Professor: Not exceeding 50 years.
- Relaxation: SC/ST - 05 years; OBC - 03 years; PwBD - 05 years (as per rules).
