Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai was set up on 27th June 2014 by the Government of Maharashtra under Act VI of 2014. It is on the 2nd Floor of the MTNL-CETTM Building, Technology Street, Hiranandani Gardens, Powai, Mumbai - 400 076. These posts are for the University's hostel.

MNLU Mumbai Hostel Caretaker Eligibility 2026

Age limit: 25 to 45 years for both posts. Age, qualifications and experience are counted as on the last date for receipt of applications.

Hostel Caretaker (Female)

• Essential qualification: 10 + 2 Class Pass.
• Desirable: a Diploma or Certificate of at least 6 months in Housekeeping/ Home Science or any other relevant subject from a recognized educational institute.
• Desirable: working knowledge of computers.
• Desirable: one year of experience in a similar field or area, with a certificate as proof. The notice lists this under Desirable but describes it as "required".

Hostel Caretaker-cum-Driver (Male)

• Essential qualification: 10 + 2 Class Pass.
• Essential: driving skill, with a four-wheeler Light Vehicle Driving Licence.
• Essential experience: one year in a similar field or area, with a certificate as proof.
• Desirable: a Diploma or Certificate of at least 6 months in Housekeeping/ Home Science or any other relevant subject from a recognized educational institute.
• Desirable: working knowledge of computers.

Age Relaxation

Reserved category candidates get up to five (05) years of relaxation in the upper age limit. To claim it, they must produce a valid caste or category certificate issued by the competent authority, and the relaxation follows the applicable government rules. In exceptional cases, the University may also relax age, qualification or experience for a candidate it finds particularly suitable. This is at its sole discretion.

Application Fee

The fee is paid online and cannot be refunded. Keep the payment receipt (UTR no.) because it goes with your printed application.

Important Dates

The notice gives two different dates for the hard copy. If your printed application reaches the University by 17 November 2026, it meets both dates.

Selection Process

Selection is by interview. Shortlisted candidates receive call letters. At the interview you must bring your original documents for verification, plus two sets of photocopies of all of them. The Selection Committee may relax or change the eligibility criteria or selection requirements for suitable candidates, subject to the rules and the Competent Authority's approval.

Service Conditions

• The appointment is purely temporary, contractual and ad-hoc. It gives no right to a regular appointment, continuation, permanency or absorption in the University.
• The contract runs for one year. Any extension depends on satisfactory performance, the University's continuing needs and the prior written approval of the Competent Authority. Extensions are never automatic.
• Both posts are full-time residential service.
• The rules and regulations of the University and the Government, and the directives of the Government of Maharashtra, apply to these posts.
• The University may fill or not fill any post, or withdraw any post, without giving a reason.

How to Apply for MNLU Mumbai Hostel Caretaker Recruitment 2026

1. Download and fill in the application form from the University website, www.mnlumumbai.edu.in. It is available from 30 October 2026.
2. Pay the application fee online and note the UTR number.
3. Fill in your details on the Google link given at the end of the notice and print out the completed form.
4. Email a scanned copy of the application form and scans of the required documents to [email protected] by 15 November 2026 (23.59 hrs).
5. Stick a passport-size photo on the printed application.
6. Put the printout, the payment receipt, the Google form printout and self-attested copies of your documents in a sealed envelope. Write "Application for the post of (name of the post)" on the envelope.

The University only accepts the printout of the prescribed online form. A bio-data, a CV or any other offline application will not be considered. Applications that arrive late, are incomplete, have no documents attached or do not come through the proper channel will be rejected without any communication. The University is not responsible if an application is lost or delayed.

Documents (self-attested copies)

• Educational qualification documents: certificates, statements of marks (photocopies of both sides) and any other relevant certificates
• Experience certificate(s) issued by the competent authority
• Birth or SSC certificate, or another government document, as proof of date of birth
• If you have changed your name: a copy of the Government Gazette or another appropriate certificate
• Caste or category certificate, if you are claiming age relaxation
• Four-wheeler Light Vehicle Driving Licence (Hostel Caretaker-cum-Driver)

Giving false information leads to disqualification at any stage, even after appointment. Canvassing, directly or indirectly, also leads to disqualification.
