Eligibility Criteria
- Qualification: Master's degree in geoinformatics /GIS and remote sensing or in geography/geology or any other related disciplines.
- Essential Qualification: Master's degree geoinformatics /GIS and remote sensing or in geography/geology or any other related disciplines.
- Desirable Qualification: A research degree (Ph.D.) in Remote Sensing/ Geoinformatics related subject.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience. Extensive experience in Geoinformatics, GIS, and Remote Sensing applications, including spatial analysis, geodatabase management, remote sensing interpretation and multi-hazard assessment. Duration of research work (PhD/Post-Doctoral) will be counted for work experience either in actual or maximum 5 years in total. Field experience in the project with substantial use of disaster risk reduction and mitigation will be given more weightage in the selection process. Both the educational qualifications and work experience must prove the credentials of the applicant as an established expert in the field. Proven experience in technical documentation, including preparation of SOPs, TORs, concept notes, policy documents, and large-scale national documentation projects. Extensive government project experience, working with national-level institutions contributing to high-level geospatial projects, stakeholder coordination, and supporting decision-making for senior government officials.
Salary/ Stipend
- Remuneration Band Rs. 1,25,000/- - Rs. 1,75,000/- for Senior Consultant.
- Remuneration in respect of retired Government employee engaged as a Consultant shall be regulated as per Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure O.M. No. 3-25/2020-E.III.A dated 09th December, 2020.
- The Selection Committee shall fix the consolidated remuneration for the offered position in the remuneration band based on the education, experience, remuneration being already drawn/ last pay drawn and other relevant factors. The remuneration will be consolidated and inclusive of all applicable taxes and no other allowance shall be provided.
Age Limit (as on January 2026)
- Maximum Age Limit: 50 years for senior consultant (In case of retired Govt. employee, maximum age limit is 62 years).

- It is a full-time engagement and Sr Consultant shall not take up any other assignment during the period of consultancy with NDMA.
- Sr Consultant will be engaged for three years initially, which may be extended up to five years based on his/her performance and as per requirement of the Division. However, no extension will be given beyond the age of 65 years.
- The NDMA can terminate the contract at any time without prior notice and without providing any reason for it. However, in the normal course it will provide one month's notice to the Individual Sr Consultant.
