The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) is the single national-level entrance exam for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, BHMS and other medical courses in India. NEET UG 2026 will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in pen-and-paper (offline) mode at designated exam centres across the country. The exam assesses candidates’ knowledge of Physics, Chemistry and Biology based on the 11th and 12th standard syllabus. Only candidates who complete the NEET 2026 application and pay the fee within the deadline will be allowed to appear for the exam.

NEET Eligibility Criteria 2026
Nationality: Indian nationals, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs and foreign nationals are eligible to apply subject to rules of respective authorities/universities.
Educational qualification:
- Candidates must have passed or be appearing in Class 12 or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as core subjects.
- A minimum aggregate percentage in PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) is required for different categories as prescribed by NMC/NTA.
- Number of attempts: There is currently no restriction on the number of attempts for NEET UG, subject to age and other eligibility conditions.
- Additional conditions: Candidates must also satisfy any specific eligibility or reservation norms as per NMC, Dental Council, AYUSH bodies, and state counselling authorities.
NEET UG 2026 Age Limit
- Minimum age: Candidate must have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or on/before the date specified in the official information bulletin (usually 31 December of the admission year).
- Upper age limit: As per recent updates, the upper age limit for appearing in NEET UG has been removed, so candidates above 25 years can apply, subject to fulfilling other eligibility conditions and admission rules of respective authorities.
Documents required for NEET UG 2026 application form
- Candidates must keep the following documents ready in the prescribed size and format before filling the NEET UG 2026 form:
- Recent passport size photograph (as per NTA specifications).
- Postcard size photograph, if specified in the information bulletin.
- Scanned signature in the required dimensions and format.
- Left-hand thumb impression and/or finger impressions (left & right hand), as per NTA guidelines.
- Class 10 marksheet and passing certificate.
- Class 12 marksheet and passing certificate (or equivalent), if available.
- Valid photo ID proof such as Aadhaar card, Passport, Voter ID, or other approved ID.
- Category certificate for OBC/SC/ST candidates, if applicable.
- PwD certificate for candidates claiming PwD reservation.
- Domicile or address proof (present and permanent address) as required for state quota rules.
- Citizenship certificate for foreign or OCI candidates, if applicable.
How to apply for NEET 2026 application form (step-by-step)
Visit official website
- Go to neet.nta.nic.in or nta.ac.in in a web browser.
New registration
- Click on the “NEET UG 2026 Registration” or “New Registration” link on the homepage.
- Read the information bulletin and instructions carefully and click on the declaration to proceed.
Generate application number
- Enter basic details like candidate name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID, and security code.
- Verify the mobile and email using the OTP to generate the application number and login password.
Fill application details
- Login using the application number and password.
- Fill personal details, category, gender, nationality, identification type and address information exactly as in official records.
- Enter academic details of Class 10 and Class 12, including board, year of passing and marks.
- Select exam city preferences from the available list.
Upload documents
- Upload scanned images of photograph, signature, thumb/finger impressions and other required certificates in the prescribed size, format and resolution.
Pay NEET 2026 application fee
- Pay the registration fee online through Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI or other available payment gateways.
- After successful payment, the system will generate a confirmation page.
Submit and download confirmation
- Check all details thoroughly and submit the form.
- Download and print the final confirmation page and fee receipt and keep multiple copies for future reference.
