NIA Ministerial Staff Recruitment 2026 – Post-wise Eligibility Criteria

1. Section Officer / Office Superintendent Officers of Central Government / State Government / Union Territories:

  • Holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre/department; OR
  • With 5 years' service in Level-6 (Rs. 35,400–1,12,400) on regular basis; AND
  • Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University
  • Computer proficiency (word processing, spreadsheet, slide generation) certified by cadre controlling authority
  • Maximum age: 56 years as on closing date

2. Assistant Officers of Central Government / State Government / Union Territories:

  • Holding analogous posts on regular basis; OR
  • With 6 years' service in Level-5 (Rs. 29,200–92,300) on regular basis; AND
  • Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University
  • Passed computer proficiency test as prescribed by Staff Selection Commission
  • Maximum age: 56 years as on closing date

3. Stenographer Grade-I Officers from Stenographer's cadre under Central Government / State Government / UTs:

  • Holding analogous posts on regular basis; OR
  • With 6 years' service in Level-5 (Rs. 29,200–92,300); OR
  • With 10 years' service in Level-4 (Rs. 25,500–81,100) on regular basis; AND
  • Graduate Degree from a recognized University
  • Computer proficiency
  • Skill Test: Stenography at 100 words per minute (10 minutes); transcription 40 minutes (English) / 55 minutes (Hindi) on computer
  • Maximum age: 56 years as on closing date

4. Upper Division Clerk (UDC) Officers of Central Government / State Government / Union Territory Administrations:

  • Holding analogous posts on regular basis; OR
  • With 8 years' service in Level-2 (Rs. 19,900–63,200) on regular basis; AND
  • 12th class pass from a recognized Board
  • Maximum age: 56 years as on closing date

5. Lower Division Clerk (LDC) Officers of Central Government / State Government / Union Territory Administrations:

  • Holding analogous posts on regular basis; AND
  • 12th class pass from a recognized Board or equivalent
  • Maximum age: 56 years as on closing date

Common Notes for All Posts:

  • Deputation period shall ordinarily not exceed 3 years (including any preceding ex-cadre deputation)
  • Departmental officers in the direct line of promotion are not eligible for deputation
  • Deputationists shall not be eligible for consideration by promotion
