On behalf of the Standardisation Testing & Quality Certification Directorate (STQC), an attached office of MeitY, NIELIT has invited online applications for Staff Car Driver (Ordinary Grade) (General Central Service, Group C, Non-Gazetted/Non-Ministerial). A total of 04 vacancies are available (UR-03, EWS-01) with pay in Level-2 (₹19,900 – ₹63,200). The online application window is from 28 January 2026 (11:30 AM) to 26 February 2026 (5:30 PM). The selection will be through a Written Test (Objective) followed by a Skill Test (Qualifying).

Eligibility Criteria for STQC Driver Recruitment 2026
Educational Qualification & Experience
- Pass in 10th Standard from a recognized board.
- Possession of a valid Driving License for Motor Car.
- Minimum 3 years experience of driving motor car.
Desirable Qualification
- Three years service as Home Guard or Civil Volunteers.
Age Limit
- 18 to 25 years (as on closing date of application).
Age Relaxation
- Ex-servicemen: As per rules.
- Up to 40 years for Central Government employees with 3 years regular and continuous service.
- Other categories: As per Central Government orders.
STQC Driver Salary 2026 – Pay Scale
Application Fee for STQC Driver Online Form 2026
Payment Mode: Online only through the application portal. Fee through DD/Pay Order/Cheque/Challan is not accepted. Fee once paid is non-refundable.
Selection Process for STQC Driver Recruitment 2026
- Written Examination (Objective type – OMR/Computer Based)
- Skill Test (Qualifying in nature; conducted only at Delhi)
Written Exam Pattern
- Duration: 2 hours
- Question paper bilingual: English & Hindi
- No negative marking
- Only marks of Written Exam will be counted for final merit list.
- Qualifying cut-off: 25% for General & EWS candidates.
Skill Test (Qualifying)
- Skill test assesses driving skills, knowledge of traffic rules, motor mechanics, and ability to identify/remove minor vehicle defects.
- If a candidate does not appear or fails the skill test, they will not be considered further.
City of Written Exam (Choice)
- Mumbai, Delhi, Thiruvananthapuram, Bengaluru, Chennai
- Skill Test will be conducted only at Delhi.

- Apply for only one region (Southern or Western). Multiple applications will be rejected.
- Complete all steps and ensure Application Status shows “Submitted Successfully”.
- Upload required documents in prescribed formats and sizes.
- After submission, take printout of the application form with application number for future reference.
