PSSSB Junior Engineer Recruitment 2025 Vacancy Details

 Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess a minimum Three Year Diploma in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from State Technical Education Board or from a Government recognized University or Institution. Candidates with higher qualifications (Degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) from a recognized University or Institution are also eligible.
• Essential Requirement: As per Punjab Civil Services (General and Common Conditions of Service) Rules, 1994, Rule 17, candidates must have passed Matriculation examination with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects or any other equivalent examination in Punjabi language.
• Desirable: Higher qualification in the relevant discipline (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Degree) is desirable.
• Experience: No specific experience mentioned in the notification.
• Important Note for Advertisement 15/2025: Candidates who applied in the Local Government Department's advertisement dated 01-07-2015 and successfully paid fees as per Hon'ble High Court's order in Civil Writ Petition 659 of 2018 will be granted age relaxation. However, no fee will be charged again from such candidates for this advertisement.
• Certificate Validity: Educational/Technical qualification certificates must be issued before the last date of application (21-01-2026 for Advt 15, last date of application for Advt 16).

Salary/Stipend

• Pay Scale: Level-6 as per 7th Central Pay Commission
• Basic Pay: Rs. 35,400/- per month
• Other Allowances: Allowances as per Punjab Government rules and 7th CPC norms will be applicable
• Increment: Annual increment as per government rules
• Additional Benefits: DA, HRA, TA and other benefits as per Punjab Government norms

Age Limit 

• Minimum Age: 18 years for all categories
• Maximum Age for General Category: 37 years
• Maximum Age for SC/BC Candidates of Punjab: 42 years
• Maximum Age for State/Central Government Employees: 45 years (with NOC from department)
• Maximum Age for Ex-Servicemen of Punjab: As per Punjab Recruitment of Ex-Servicemen Rules, 1982 with amendments. The upper age limit will be calculated after deducting the service period in armed forces. If the remaining age after deduction does not exceed 3 years from the upper age limit as per service rules, the candidate will be considered eligible.
• Maximum Age for Physically Handicapped Candidates of Punjab: 47 years (10 years age relaxation)
• Age Relaxation for Women: For widows, divorcees and certain other categories of married women as per Government of Punjab letter No. 1/50/83-5PP(1368)/3454 dated 23/04/1984, the upper age limit will be relaxed up to 40 years
• Special Note for Advertisement 15/2025: Candidates who applied in the advertisement dated 01-07-2015 and successfully paid fees will be granted age relaxation as per Hon'ble High Court's order in Civil Writ Petition 659 of 2018

Application Fee

• Note: Once paid, the application fee will not be refunded under any circumstances.
• Payment Mode: Fee can be paid through State Bank of India (SBI) branch via Challan OR through Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/UPI

Selection Process

• Written Examination: Candidates who successfully apply online will be called for an Objective Type Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) written examination
• Merit List Preparation: The merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in the written examination
• Tie-Breaking Rules: In case of equal marks in the written examination:
  • First preference: Older candidate (based on date of birth)
  • Second preference: Higher percentage in required educational qualification
  • Third preference: Higher marks in Matriculation examination
• Document Verification/Counseling: Based on the merit list, candidates will be called for document verification/counseling. The number of candidates called will be decided by the Board or competent authority considering category-wise vacancies
• Final Selection: Only after successful verification of all documents and fulfillment of eligibility criteria, candidates' names will be recommended to the concerned department based on available vacancies
• Important Note: Appearing in online application, written examination, merit list, or counseling does not guarantee selection. Final recommendation depends on complete eligibility verification and vacancy availability

General Information/Instructions

• Punjab Domicile Mandatory: Only residents of Punjab State are eligible for reservation benefits. Valid Domicile/Residence Certificate (not older than 5 years) must be submitted during counseling
• Category Certificates: SC/BC/Ex-Servicemen/PWD/EWS certificates must be as per Punjab Government's prevailing instructions
• Category Code Selection: Candidates must carefully select category and category code while filling the online form as it cannot be changed at any stage
• Ex-Servicemen Priority: ESM (Self) candidates will be given first preference. Only if ESM (Self) is not available, ESM (Dependent) candidates will be considered
• Women Reservation: Recruitment will be done as per Punjab Civil Services (Reservation of Posts for Women) Rules, 2020, Notification No. G.S.R. 87/Const/Art.309 and 15/2020 dated 21/10/2020
• Document Upload: Candidates must scan and upload required certificates in PDF format in a single file during online application
• No Personal Communication: All recruitment-related information will be published only on the Board's website. No individual communication will be sent to candidates
• No TA/DA: No Travelling Allowance or Daily Allowance will be paid for attending written examination or counseling
• Board's Rights Reserved: The Board reserves the right to modify/cancel/increase/decrease the number of vacancies or category-wise distribution at any stage of recruitment
• Final Decision: The decision of the Board or Committee constituted by the Board shall be final and binding on all candidates

• Step 2 - Click on Online Applications: Click on "Online Applications" link on the website
• Step 3 - Select Post: For Advertisement 16, first click on Junior Engineer post, then select one from Civil/Mechanical/Electrical as per your qualification
• Step 4 - Registration: Fill personal and educational details carefully and complete registration. A Username will be generated after successful registration
• Step 5 - Login and Fill Form: Login using the generated Username and complete the application form step-wise
• Step 6 - Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of passport size photograph, signature, Matriculation certificate (for date of birth), 12th certificate, Diploma/Degree certificates, and category certificates (if applicable)
• Step 7 - Submit Application: After uploading all documents, submit the complete application form. The form will be accepted only after successful fee payment
• Step 8 - Fee Payment: After submitting the form (skipping one day), pay the application fee through:
  • State Bank of India branch via Challan (on any working day)
  • Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/UPI (anytime before 31-12-2025)
• Step 9 - Download Application Form: After successful fee payment (after 2 days), download and print the application form for future reference
• Step 10 - No Correction After Submission: Once submitted, no changes can be made to the application form. Candidates must fill the form carefully
