SAIL Collieries Division General Duty Medical Officer (GDMO) Recruitment 2026 Vacancy Details 

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidate must be an Indian national possessing requisite qualification from an Institute recognized by MCI or having valid practitioner license.
• Essential qualification: MBBS from University/Institute recognized by MCI.
• Candidates having relevant work experience will be given preference.

Salary/Stipend

• Rate of consolidated remuneration: Rs. 1,00,000/- per month.
• The doctors engaged under the scheme may be provided rent free Company’s Quarters (up to 2 BHK or equivalent category), if desired, subject to availability; electricity, water and other charges will be as applicable for that category of quarter for SAIL employees; no HRA will be admissible.
• Post-paid SIM under CUG including monthly call charges, monthly rental and applicable taxes shall be provided with the monthly ceiling of Rs. 350/- per month.
• Free treatment for self and spouse at Collieries Division/BGH without referral benefit provided he/she is not getting the same from his/her previous organization; in case of ex-employee of SAIL, the medical benefits as applicable/available for ex-employees will continue.
• The doctors engaged under the Scheme will be eligible to get 10 days leave in a year subject to prior approval.

Age Limit 

• Not more than 69 years as on date of advertisement i.e. 12.01.2026.
• The upper age limit for contractual engagement under this scheme is 70 years.

Important Dates

Selection Process

• Selection will be through “Walk-in Interview” followed by a medical screening.
• Engagement will start immediately after the selection of the candidates is completed and orders are issued for engagement.
• Candidates responding to the advertisement will have to download the Application Form (Annexure-I) and submit the duly-filled application form along with the listed supporting documents at the time of Walk-in Interview.

General Information/Instructions

• Candidate must be an Indian national possessing requisite qualification from an Institute recognized by MCI or having valid practitioner license.
• Eligible & interested candidates may attend the Walk-in Interview on the above date, time & venue along with the required documents (original and one set of self-attested photocopies).
• All certificates & documents in support of eligibility will be verified only during “Walk-in Interview” and any candidate who fails to produce the same will not be allowed to appear for the interview.
• The Doctors engaged under this scheme shall be eligible for Maternity Leave as per Maternity Benefit Act 1961 subject to fulfillment of conditions stipulated in the Act.
• The contractual engagement under the scheme can be terminated by giving one month’s notice by either party; in case of poor performance, moral turpitude, conviction by Court of Law, insolvency, loss of license to practice, grave misconduct or financial irregularity or if the Doctor is medically unfit and likely to continue for a considerable period of time and cannot discharge normal duty hours, the contract can be terminated by the company.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending “Walk-in Interview” / selection process.
• The engagement is purely on “contractual basis” and is not to be construed as giving rise to any right of regular appointment in SAIL - Collieries Division in any manner whatsoever.
• SAIL Collieries Division reserves the sole authority to consider the cases as per its rules and its decision shall be firm & binding.
• SAIL Collieries Division reserves the right to reject any application or cancel the candidature or the whole process of interview or engage less than the numbers of doctors indicated, without assigning any reason thereof and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained in this connection.
• Candidature is liable to be rejected at any stage of the selection process or after selection, if any information provided by the candidate is found to be false or not in conformity with requisite eligibility criteria mentioned in the advertisement.
• In case of any dispute on interpretation of any part of this advertisement, the decision of the Company shall be final and binding.
• Court of jurisdiction for any dispute will be at Dhanbad, Jharkhand.
• Candidates applying for the post of GDMO may be posted at SAIL Collieries Division, Chasnalla or Jitpur (in Dhanbad, Jharkhand) or at Ramnagore (in Paschim Bardhaman, West Bengal), on the sole discretion of the Appointing Authority.

• Eligible & interested candidates may attend the Walk-in Interview on the specified date, time and venue.
• Candidates must bring the filled in application format (Annexure-I) with one additional passport size recent colour photograph.
• Candidates must bring pass certificate and mark sheets for educational qualification.
• Candidates must bring experience certificate (as applicable) showing relevant post qualification experience from the employer; in case of retired employees, service certificate issued by the parent organization should be given.
• Candidates must bring proof of date of birth (Matriculation pass certificate of recognized Board).
• Candidates must bring valid Registration Certificate issued by any State Medical Council/MCI.
• Candidates must bring Photo Identity Proof (Voter ID/PAN/Aadhar Card/Driving License/Passport).
• All certificates & documents in support of eligibility will be verified only during Walk-in Interview and those who fail to produce them will not be allowed to appear for the interview.
