Spices Board Research Associate Recruitment 2026 Vacancy Details 

Eligibility Criteria

• Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Agronomy / Soil Science / Chemistry / Horticulture with specialization in Spices and Plantation Crops.
• Essential Experience: Three years relevant research experience evidenced by any one published research article with NAAS rating above 5.0.
• Desirable: Working knowledge in computer; experience in conducting field experiments, data compilation and analysis etc.
• Skills and Competencies: Working knowledge in computer, field experimentation techniques, data analysis, interpretation and report preparation from field and laboratory studies.

Salary/Stipend

• Remuneration: Rs.35,000/- plus (Consolidated) Fixed per month.
• The engagement is purely on contractual basis and not linked to regular appointments and cannot be regularized at any stage.
• The validity of the rank list prepared for this engagement shall be for two (02) years only from the date of publishing.

Age Limit (as on 27-01-2026)

• Age: Not exceeding 35 years.
• The eligibility of applicants with respect to age will be determined as on the last date for receiving applications.

Selection Process

• Method of Selection: Written Test, Interview.
• If the number of applications received is more, applications will be shortlisted based on criteria decided by Spices Board.
• Original documents for eligibility criteria must be produced for verification; failing which the candidate will not be allowed to attend the test/interview.
• Decisions of Spices Board in all matters regarding eligibility, conduct of test, detailed test and selection procedure will be final and binding; no representation or correspondence will be entertained.

General Information/Instructions

• Candidates shall report at the venue one hour before the commencement of written test for verification of original certificates.
• Candidates appearing for the screening test should bring passport size photograph and original certificates for identity proof, proof of age, proof of educational qualification, experience and publications, along with one set of self-attested photocopies and duly filled application form (Annexure I).
• Only candidates possessing the essential qualifications need to appear in the screening test; those who have not yet received their final degree certificate need not appear.
• Candidates are advised to check Notifications/opportunities in the Board’s website www.indianspices.com for updates and not to rely on information from third party websites.
• Before applying, candidates should ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria for the post and keep their e-mail ID and mobile number active for communication from the Spices Board.
• If at any stage of the selection process it is detected that a candidate does not fulfill the eligibility norms or has furnished incorrect/false information or suppressed material facts, his/her candidature will stand cancelled; if detected after appointment, services are liable to be terminated.
• Any legal proceedings in respect of any matter of claim or dispute arising out of this vacancy notification and/or application/tests in response thereto can be instituted only in Kochi, and courts at Kochi only shall have sole and exclusive jurisdiction.
• The period of experience in a discipline/area of work, wherever prescribed, will be counted only after acquiring the essential qualification.
• Spices Board reserves the right to modify, alter, restrict, enlarge or cancel the recruitment process without further notice or assigning any reasons; its decision will be final and no appeal will be entertained.
• Engagement will be purely on contractual basis; those already engaged on contract basis in Spices Board earlier, regardless of whether they completed their tenure or not, need not apply again.
• Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.

• Eligible candidates may send their applications in the format given in Annexure-I along with scanned copies of certificates (proof for age, education, publication, experience, recent passport size photo etc.) via email to [email protected] in advance, on or before the last date for receiving applications.
• The email should bear the subject titled as "Application for Research Associate (Agronomy)".
• Applications which are not received in the prescribed format (Annexure-I) of the notification along with supporting documents will not be considered.
• Candidates may send the application as a single PDF attachment in the following order: (a) Annexure-I (b) Educational qualifications (in chronological order) (c) ID proof (d) Experience certificate(s) (e) Publications (f) any other document.
• In case of any discrepancy in the name and address, one and the same certificate/any valid proof supporting the same issued by government/local bodies shall be submitted.
