Eligibility Criteria
- Candidate shall possess the 2 ½ years course in Diploma in Nursing Therapy.
- The Diploma in Nursing Therapy must be awarded by the Chairman, Board of Examination, Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, Government of Tamil Nadu.
- Alternatively, the Diploma in Nursing Therapy may be awarded by the Secretary, Governing Council, Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, Chennai, Government of Tamil Nadu.
- Persons with required qualification whether registered in employment exchange or otherwise are eligible to apply.
- If a candidate claims equivalent qualification, the onus of providing the same rests with the candidate, as per the conditions and qualification section.
Salary/Stipend
- The level of pay for Therapeutic Assistant (Male) and Therapeutic Assistant (Female) is Level 4.
- The pay scale is Rs. 18000 – 56900 as per Pay Matrix Level 4.
- The selected candidates will be paid scale of pay of Rs. 18000 – 56900/- as specified in the notification and Annexure-6.
- The pay of the post is subject to such modification as may be made from time to time by the Government.
- If a rate of pay actually in force at the time of appointment is different from that announced, the candidate will be paid only at that rate.
Age Limit
- Minimum Age (all categories): 18 years (should have completed).
- For SC / ST / SCA / BC / BCM / MBC & DNC: No Maximum Age Limit, with explanation that candidates should not have completed 60 years of age as on 01.07.2025 at the time of selection / appointment.
- For OC – For all categories: Minimum 18 years and Maximum 32 years*.
- For OC – Differently Abled Person: Minimum 18 years and Maximum 42 years*.
- For OC – Ex-Servicemen: Minimum 18 years and Maximum 48 years*.
- For Destitute Widow: Minimum 18 years and No Maximum Age Limit.
- Eligible Differently Abled candidates can avail age concession up to ten years over and above the age limits prescribed for appointment by direct recruitment.
Application Fee
- SC / SCA / ST / DAP(PH) / DW: Rs. 300/-.
- Others: Rs. 600/-.

- Online applications once registered / completed will not be allowed to be withdrawn and the fee paid towards registration / application will not be refunded / adjusted for any reason.

Selection Process
- Selection will be made based on the marks scored by the candidates in their academic qualification for the post of Therapeutic Assistant (Male) / Therapeutic Assistant (Female).
- The selection will be made duly following the relevant rules of reservation and communal rotation of Government of Tamil Nadu and other conditions stipulated in this notification.
- There will be no oral test (Interview) for the post.
- Weightage of marks: Diploma in Nursing Therapy – 50%; HSC / P.U.C – 30%; SSLC / 10th – 20%.
- Where marks are not awarded to the technical qualification and only a certificate / diploma is issued, the percentage of marks obtained in SSLC or HSC alone will be taken into account for calculating the weightage of marks, as per G.O.(Ms.) No.331, Health and Family Welfare (C2) Department, Dated 05.11.2015.
General Information/Instructions
- Applications are invited only through online mode up to 11.02.2026 for direct recruitment to the posts of Therapeutic Assistant (Male) and Therapeutic Assistant (Female) in Tamil Nadu Medical Subordinate Service.
- The number of vacancies advertised is only an indicative number and is liable for change (decrease or increase) with reference to vacancy position at any time before finalisation of selection for appointment.
- The rule of reservation is applicable as per the rules in force, and detailed instructions with regard to reservation are given in Annexure-2 and Annexure-3.
- 4% of the posts are reserved for Differently Abled candidates (Orthopaedically physically disabled with disability in lower limb between 40% and 70%) as per relevant Government Orders.
- In direct recruitment to Group ‘C’ posts, five percent (5%) posts are reserved for Ex-servicemen as per the 200 point roster of Government of Tamil Nadu.
- Person Studied in Tamil Medium (PSTM) provisions are applicable as per the Tamil Nadu Appointment on Preferential Basis Act, and candidates must upload the required PSTM documents.
- Applicants are solely responsible for their claims in the online application and should check the filled in online application along with required documents before submitting the same.
- The applicants shall mandatorily upload the certificates / documents in support of all the claims made in the online application at the time of submission of online application itself.
- Incomplete applications and applications containing wrong claims or incorrect particulars relating to eligibility criteria will be summarily rejected after due process.

How to Apply
- Candidates should apply only through online in the Board’s website http://www.mrb.tn.gov.in.
- Before applying, candidates should keep a scanned image of their colour photograph and scanned image of their signature.
- A valid e-mail ID and mobile number are mandatory for registration and should be kept active till the declaration of results.
- On the Home Page, candidates should click “Online Registration” to open the Online Application Form.
- Candidates must select the name of the post of Therapeutic Assistant (Male) / Therapeutic Assistant (Female).
- All the required particulars must be entered without skipping any field; mobile number and e-mail are mandatory, and secondary contact details are also requested.
- Candidates must upload their scanned copy of colour photograph and scanned copy of signature as per specifications given in the Guidelines for Scanning and Upload of Photograph and Signature.
