What is TS DEECET 2026?

TS DEECET 2026, also known as TG DEECET 2026, is the Telangana Diploma in Elementary Education Common Entrance Test conducted by the Department of School Education for admission into teacher education programmes in the state. Through this exam, eligible candidates can secure seats in two-year D.El.Ed. and D.P.S.E. courses offered by Government DIETs (District Institutes of Education and Training) and recognised private institutions.

The entrance test acts as a common gateway for admission into Telugu, Urdu and English medium D.El.Ed. seats and English medium D.P.S.E. seats in Telangana. Admission is granted based on the candidate’s rank, category, medium, and preferences exercised during the web counselling process.

TS DEECET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must ensure they meet the prescribed eligibility conditions before applying for TS DEECET 2026, as applications from ineligible candidates can be rejected at any stage.

Educational Qualification

• Candidates should have passed or appeared for the Intermediate examination (10+2) or its equivalent as decided by the TG DEECET Committee.

• They must pass the qualifying exam by the time of admission to the D.El.Ed. and D.P.S.E. programmes.

• A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination is required for general category candidates; for SC, ST and PwD candidates, the minimum aggregate required is 45%.

• Candidates should have studied Telugu or Urdu as a medium at SSC/Intermediate level or as a language subject, as specified in the bulletin, depending on the medium they opt for in the entrance test.

• Certain categories such as Polytechnic candidates and holders of specific non-equivalent certificates (like some Urdu Fazil courses) are not considered eligible, as clarified in the information bulletin.

Age Limit

• Candidates must have completed 17 years of age as on 1 September of the year of admission.

• There is no upper age limit for admission into D.El.Ed. and D.P.S.E. programmes through TS DEECET 2026.

Local / Non-Local Criteria

• Candidates must satisfy the local/non-local status as per the Telangana Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974.

• In general, 85% of seats are reserved for local candidates in the state, while the remaining 15% seats are unreserved and open to both local and non-local candidates as per the rules.

TS DEECET 2026 Exam Pattern & Syllabus (Brief)

TS DEECET 2026 will be conducted as an objective-type computer-based examination with multiple-choice questions. Understanding the pattern helps candidates plan their preparation more effectively.

TS DEECET 2026 Result, Rank Card & Counselling

As per the published schedule, TS DEECET 2026 results and rank cards are expected to be released on 30 May 2026 on the official website. Each candidate’s marks and rank will be made available online, and they must download their rank card for use during counselling and admission.

• Candidates belonging to OC and BC categories must secure at least 35% marks in the entrance test to be assigned a rank.

• There is no minimum qualifying mark requirement for SC and ST candidates for consideration against their reserved category seats.

• Admissions into Government DIETs and Category A seats of private unaided institutions will be carried out through a single window system, based on TS DEECET 2026 ranks, reservations and options exercised.

Certificate verification is scheduled from 1 June 2026 to 5 June 2026, followed by web options entry from 6 June 2026 to 8 June 2026. Seat allotment is planned for 14 June 2026, and selected candidates must pay the prescribed tuition fee between 14 June 2026 and 17 June 2026 and report to their allotted institutions before the commencement of classes on 1 July 2026.
