The University of Allahabad has one full-time Postdoctoral Fellowship (PDF) seat under the Visvesvaraya Ph.D. Scheme for Electronics and IT, Phase-II, for the session 2026-27. The fellowship pays ₹1,08,393 a month for up to one year. It is open to Indian citizens aged up to 40 who finished a Ph.D. in Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM) or IT/IT Enabled Services within the last five years. Age Limit

The upper age limit is 40 years on the date the application is submitted. Reservation follows Government of India norms.

Educational Qualification

• A Ph.D. degree with research focused on Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM) or Information Technology/IT Enabled Services (IT/ITES).
• The Ph.D. must be from a recognised institution, with first class (in terms of grades, etc.) at every earlier level and a good academic record throughout.
• The Ph.D. must have been completed within the past 5 years, counted on the last date for applications.
• Candidates who earned their Ph.D. from the University of Allahabad are not eligible.

Other Conditions

• Applicants must be Indian citizens.
• The fellowship goes to researchers with a proven academic record, including peer-reviewed publications and recognitions.
• Applicants in regular employment will not be considered. Scientists or researchers in temporary academic or research posts may apply, but they must give up those posts if selected.
• Anyone who has already received this fellowship under the scheme is not eligible.
• The research proposal must set out clear objectives, outcomes and deliverables against the award.

Selection Process

Selection depends on the interview panel's recommendation and approval by the Competent Authority. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted by email.

Service Conditions

• This is a full-time, non-transferable, temporary position, tenable in India only.
• The fellowship is valid for 1 year. The scheme does not allow any extension beyond one year.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the screening test or interview.
• The university may revise, reschedule, cancel or suspend the process without giving a reason. Its decision is final, and no appeal will be accepted.

1. Pay the fee online into the Punjab National Bank account given above and keep the receipt.
2. Fill in the application form (Annexure-1) at the end of the notice. It asks for personal details, correspondence and permanent addresses, academic records from 10th to Ph.D., GATE/NET/JRF details, work experience, previous research and publications, and a detailed research proposal. Paste a self-attested recent passport-size photograph on it and sign the declaration.
3. Send the completed form and all documents by Indian post to: The Head of the Department, Department of Electronics and Communication, Science Faculty, University of Allahabad, Prayagraj-211002, U.P. India.
4. Write on the envelope: "Application for PDF position under Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme, for Electronics and IT, Phase-II, DIC, MietY at University of Allahabad".
5. Make sure the hard copy reaches the department by 18 November 2026.
