Child Development & Pedagogy

(Common for both papers)

• Concept of development & learning, stages (physical, mental, emotional, social, language)

• Inclusive education, guidance & counselling for diverse needs (disadvantaged groups, special methods like Braille)

• Learning theories (Piaget’s cognitive development, Vygotsky’s socio-cultural, Thorndike, Pavlov, Skinner, Kohler)

• Child-centered teaching, teaching-learning process, motivation, error analysis

• Factors affecting learning, principles, methods, micro-teaching, TLM (teaching-learning materials)

Language I (Hindi)

• Comprehension (unseen passages)

• Grammar & vocabulary (alphabet, matras, sandhi, samas, alankar, idioms, proverbs, antonyms, synonyms, tenses, gender, number)

• Teaching methods, language skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing)

• Pedagogy of language development, challenges in learning, remedial teaching, evaluation

Language II (English / Sanskrit / Urdu)

Science:

Social Studies (Paper 2)

UPTET Preparation Tips

• Focus on NCERT-based concepts from classes 1-8 for content sections.

• Practice previous year papers and mock tests for time management.

• Strengthen the pedagogy section as it is common and high-weightage (30 marks).

• Thoroughly revise child development theories and inclusive education.
