Eligibility Criteria

• Post: Pilot, Class-I, in the scale of pay Rs.70,000 – 2,00,000/- by Direct Recruitment at V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority, Tuticorin.
• Educational/Professional Qualification (Essential): Must hold a certificate of competency as Master of Foreign Going Ship issued by the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India.
• Experience (Essential): One year post-qualification experience as Master or Chief Officer of a foreign going ship.
• All qualifications should be recognized and approved in India by AICTE/UGC/appropriate statutory authority/competent authority.
• Age Limit: Maximum 40 years; age will be determined as on 04/02/2026, which is the crucial date for qualification, experience and age.
• Age Relaxation: Applicable to SC/ST candidates as per rules and regulations.

Salary/Stipend

• Basic Pay: Rs.70,000 – 2,00,000/- in IDA scale for Class-I Pilot.
• In addition to basic pay, benefits include DA on industrial pattern, accommodation or HRA, cafeteria allowance, National Pension System (NPS), group insurance, medical facilities, encashment of earned leave and applicable marine allowances as per rules.
• The candidate appointed as Pilot will initially undergo training for a period of 6 months and be designated as Trainee Pilot and, on obtaining license after training, will be designated as Pilot.
