The West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences (WBUAFS), Office of the Controller of Examinations, has issued a Counselling cum Admission Notice for the Bachelor of Fishery Science [B.F.Sc. Reservation Policy and Category-wise Rules
- OBC candidates must belong to the Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) to be eligible as reserved category candidates; otherwise, they will be treated as Unreserved (UR)/General.
- OBC-NCL and EWS certificates must be issued in the appropriate format on or after 01.04.2026, as per current Govt. of West Bengal guidelines.
- PwD seats are filled on a horizontal basis within the respective category.
- Reservation for SC/ST/EWS/PwD follows extant West Bengal Government rules; OBC reservation follows Kolkata Gazette Notification Nos. 944-BCW/MR-23/2026 and 945-BCW/MR-23/2026 (both dated 18.05.2026), and Labr/85-Emp/EC/1M-01/2025 dated 25.05.2026.
- Domicile certificates issued by elected people's representatives (municipal commissioner, councilor, panchayat member, GTA, MLA, or MP) are not acceptable as domicile proof.
- If a domicile certificate under Proforma b or e-District shows the parent's domicile, two original ID proofs of the parent (Voter ID, Aadhaar Card, or Passport) showing a West Bengal residential address must be produced during document verification.
Important Instructions
- The Provisional Merit List has been prepared strictly as per merit.
- Provisional seat allotment will be made serially from the merit list until seats in the respective categories are filled.
- All admissions are provisional; if a candidate is found ineligible, or is found to have suppressed material information or submitted false information/documents, the admission will stand cancelled.
- OBC candidates must submit an updated NCL certificate on the day of counselling, failing which they will be treated as UR/General.
- Vacant SC seats will be filled by ST candidates and vice versa.
- Reservation rules follow extant West Bengal Government policy for SC/ST/EWS/PwD and specified Gazette notifications for OBC.
- A Domicile Certificate in the prescribed format is mandatory; certain issuing authorities are not accepted (see Reservation Policy section above).
- Participation in counselling does not guarantee admission; the admission committee's decision is final.
- The university reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of seats without assigning any reason.
- Selected candidates must submit the downloaded online Anti-Ragging affidavit at first registration and each subsequent year, through www.antiragging.in and www.amanmovement.org.
