Selection Procedure: The candidates are selected through the process of –
(a) Physical Measurement,
(b) Physical Efficiency/Endurance Test (PET),
(c) Written Examination
(d) Skill Test (For Drivers and Followers) &
I. Physical Measurement: All the candidates who have applied for this post have to possess physical requirements as mentioned in notification.
II. Physical Efficiency / Endurance Test (PET): The candidates who possess minimum physical requirements will be called for PET. Physical efficiency test will be conducted in the events of 100 Mtr. Run, 1500 Mtr Run, High Jump, Long Jump and Short Put (16 lb) for male and female candidates.
III. Written Examination: The candidates who have qualified in physical efficiency test will be called for written examination. Written test will be conducted for 80 marks. The written test for Open and HG candidates shall be set on class Xth and VIIIth standard. Writte test will comprise of General Knowledge (Sikkim & India), History of Sikkim (Objective), Reasoning Test (Objective) and Short Essay & Letter Writing. Each test will carry 20 Marks.
IV. Skill Test: The candidates who qualify written examination will be called for skill test for the post of Constable – Driver & Technical/ Tradesman. Skill test will be conducted for 20 marks.
V. Viva-voce Test: Only those candidates who qualify in written test shall be called for viva-voce. Viva-voce will be conducted for 25 marks.
Merit List of HG candidates will be kept en-block below OPEN category candidates owing to their different minimum required qualification and separate syllabus for written examination. However, those willing to appear from open category may do so.
