TNPSC Engineering Services Exam Pattern: Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission's Combined Engineering Services Exam Pattern and scheme of examination are given below...

Scheme of Examination: Written examination will be conducted in objective type, consists of two papers. Paper I will have the subjects in the relevant discipline of engineering, time duration will be 3 hours and paper II will have questions on General Studies, time duration will be 2 hours.

Paper-I Any one of the following subjects in which the candidate has acquired his/her educational qualification (Degree Standard -200 questions each) (Objective Type) (i) Civil Engineering (Code No.029) (ii) Mechanical and Production Engineering (Code No.074) (iii) Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering (Code No.042) (iv) Textile Engineering (Code No.114) (v) Electronics and Communication Engineering (Code No.044) (vi) Chemical Engineering (Code No.025)ii. Paper -II General Studies (Objective Type) (Degree Standard-100 questions)iii. Interview and Records  3 Hours          2 Hours  300          200         70   171   228

i. The questions in Paper-I will be set in English only and the questions in Paper-II will be set both in Tamil and English based on the existing syllabi. ii. For answering Paper – I, the candidates should specify the subject in which they wish to be examined. They should choose only the subject in which they have obtained the prescribed qualification. iii. The candidates who possess a degree in Production Engineering and Industrial Engineering should choose Mechanical and Production Engineering, the candidates who possess a degree in Textile Technology should choose Textile Engineering as an optional subject. iv. The subject paper Civil Engineering will consist of question in Civil and Structural Engineering.
