UPSC CMS (combined medical services) Exam Pattern Details: Upsc conducts CMS (combined medical services) examination every year through conducting by written examination and Interview phases. Part 1 written examination, part 2 personality test / interview. Written examination consist 2 papers; each paper carries 250 maximum marks and 2 hours duration .The part 2 personality test called who are qualified candidates in written test.

Part I .written examination: In this written examination consists of 2 papers each paper maximum marks 250 total two carrying papers 500 marks. 2 hours duration objective type questions in both papers negative marks given for wrong answers.

Paper -1: maximum marks details given below
(a)General ability – 30 questions
(b)General medicine – 70 questions
(c) Pediatrics – 20 questions
Total no. of questions in paper -1 = 120, maximum marks 250, duration 2hrs

Paper -2:
(A) Surgery – 40 questions
(b)Gynecology & obstetrics – 40 questions
(c)Preventive & social medicine – 40 questions
Total no. of questions in paper II =120, maximum marks 250, duration 2 hrs

Part II: Personality test / Interview: In this personality test that are appeared and qualified in the written examination those candidates are called for interview .The interview conducted by upsc. This personality test maximum marks 100 .The personality test marks decided the union public service commission .In this interview test ask a questions on general knowledge , academic education details , candidates behavior ,leadership qualities ,sharpness ,commanding power this type of qualities they see in the candidates.
