Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications:
Forester Grade-I:
- Bachelor Degree in any discipline from recognized University or equivalent
Sub Officer & Constable (WO/WT):
- H.S. (Science) passed with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) from a recognized Board or Council
- Candidates must have obtained pass marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) in H.S. (Science) examination
Fireman & Emergency Rescuer:
- H.S. (Science) passed from a recognized Board or Council
Forest Guard, Game Watcher & Constable (UB) in APRO:
- H.S. (10+2) or equivalent examination passed from a recognized Board or Council
AFPF Constable, Constable (Grade-III), Bandman (Constable) & Bugler:
- HSLC or equivalent examination passed from a recognized Board or Council
- Home Guard Certificate or Minimum NCC 'A' Certificate (for Constable Grade-III, Bandman & Bugler, except Ex-Servicemen)
- For Bandman: Proficiency in specific instrument (playing Bagpipes, Snare Drums, Tenor Drums and Bass Drum etc.)
- For Bugler: Proficiency in playing Bugle
Boatman:
- Essential: HSLC or equivalent examination under any Govt. recognized board
- Essential: Proficiency in swimming
- Desirable: Higher Educational qualifications, Proficiency in Sports, Proficiency in Martial arts, Experience of serving as Home Guard, Possession of Lifeguard Training Certificate, Having undergone Crew Training Course at Govt. of Assam Inland Water Transport Crew Training Centre or other Govt. recognized institute

- Forester Grade-I: Pay Scale ₹14,000-70,000/- (Pay Band No.2) + Grade Pay ₹6,400/- + other allowances
- Forest Guard, Game Watcher, AFPF Constable, Constable (UB), Constable (Grade-III), Bandman: Pay Scale ₹14,000-70,000/- (Pay Band No.2) + Grade Pay ₹5,600/- + other allowances
- Constable (WO/WT), Sub-Officer: Pay Scale ₹14,000-70,000/- (Pay Band No.2) + Grade Pay ₹6,200/- + other allowances
- Fireman, Emergency Rescuer: Pay Scale ₹14,000-70,000/- (Pay Band No.2) + Grade Pay ₹5,000/- + other allowances

For AFPF Constable, Constable (WO/WT), Constable (UB), Fireman, Emergency Rescuer & Boatman:
- Age Range: 18-25 years (Born not before 01-01-2001 and not later than 01-01-2008)
Age Relaxations:
- SC, ST (P) and ST (H): 5 years relaxation beyond upper age limit
- OBC/MOBC: 3 years relaxation beyond upper age limit
- Trained Home Guards (3+ years service): Additional 3 years (only for Constables in APRO)
- Ex-Servicemen: Additional 2 years (only for Forester Grade-I, Forest Guard, Game Watcher, Constable (Grade-III), Bandman & Bugler)
- Age calculated on basis of Matriculation/HSLC Admit Card/HSLC Passed Certificate only
- No other document (Horoscope, Affidavit, Birth Extract etc.) will be accepted for age proof

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) - 40 Marks:
For Male Candidates:
- 3200 meters race to be completed within 14 minutes (840 seconds)
- Long Jump: Minimum 335 cm (3 chances given, longest valid jump considered)
- Maximum 20 marks for race (time 600 seconds or less)
- Maximum 20 marks for long jump (500 cm or more)
For Female Candidates:
- 1600 meters race to be completed within 8 minutes (480 seconds)
- Long Jump: Minimum 244 cm (3 chances given, longest valid jump considered)
- Maximum 20 marks for race (time 330 seconds or less)
- Maximum 20 marks for long jump (389 cm or more)
Written Test:
For Forester Grade-I (100 Marks):
- 100 multiple choice questions on OMR sheet
- Each question carries 1 mark
- Negative marking: ½ mark for each wrong answer
- Subjects: Logical reasoning, Aptitude, English Comprehension, History and Culture of Assam and India, General Knowledge
For All Other Posts (50 Marks):
- 100 multiple choice questions on OMR sheet
- Each correct answer carries 0.5 marks (Total 50 marks)
- No negative marking
- Questions of Class IX and X level
- Subjects: Elementary Arithmetic, General English, Logical reasoning/Mental ability, Assam's History, Geography, Polity, Economy, General Awareness/GK and current affairs
- Question paper in Assamese/Bodo/Bengali/English languages
Shortlisting for Written Test:
- 5 times the number of posts in order of merit based on PET marks
- If candidates scoring same marks as last selected candidate, they will also be called
Walking Test (Qualifying - No Marks):
- For Forester Grade-I & Forest Guard only
- Male: 26 KMs to be covered within 4 hours
- Female: 16 KMs to be covered within 4 hours
Oral/Viva Voce - 5 Marks:
- Shortlisting: 2 times number of vacancies based on total marks in PET & Written Test
Swimming & Boating Test - 10 Marks:
- For Boatman post only
- Conducted for candidates shortlisted for Oral/Viva Voce
Trade Proficiency Test - 10 Marks:
- For Bandman & Bugler posts only

NCC Weightage - Maximum 5 Marks:
- NCC 'C' Certificate: 5 marks
- NCC 'B' Certificate: 3 marks

Final Merit Calculation:
For Forester Grade-I (Total 150 marks):
- PET: 40 marks + Written Test: 100 marks + NCC: 5 marks + Oral/Viva Voce: 5 marks
For Most Posts (Total 100 marks):
- PET: 40 marks + Written Test: 50 marks + NCC: 5 marks + Oral/Viva Voce: 5 marks
For Boatman, Bandman & Bugler (Total 110 marks):
- PET: 40 marks + Written Test: 50 marks + NCC: 5 marks + Oral/Viva Voce: 5 marks + Swimming/Trade Test: 10 marks
Tie-Breaking:
- In case of tie, older candidate placed higher
- If same date of birth, candidate with higher height placed higher in merit

For Forester Grade-I, Forest Guard & Game Watcher:

- Male (ST P/ST H): 153 cm

Chest (Only for Men):
- All Categories: Minimum 79 cm normal + 5 cm expansion
For AFPF Constable, Constable (WO/WT), Constable (UB), Sub-Officer, Fireman, Emergency Rescuer, Constable Grade-III, Bandman, Bugler & Boatman:
Height Requirements:
- Male (General/OBC/MOBC/SC): 162.5 cm
- Male (ST P/ST H): 160 cm
- Female (General/OBC/MOBC/SC): 154 cm

Chest (Only for Men):
- General/OBC/MOBC/SC/ST (P): Minimum 80 cm + 5 cm expansion
- ST (H): Minimum 78 cm + 5 cm expansion
Medical Standards:
- Good mental and bodily health required
- Free from physical deformities
- Free from diabetes, heart disease, hernia, piles, respiratory diseases, knock-knee, flat foot or any physical deformity
- Should not be colour blind or squint eyed
- Eye Sight: Distance vision 6/6 for at least one eye and not poorer than 6/9 for other without correction; Normal near vision
- Varicose vein considered as temporary disqualification
General Information/Instructions
- Applicant must be a Citizen of India and Permanent Resident of Assam
- Must be registered with a local Employment Exchange in Assam
- Must speak Assamese or any other State language fluently
- The present number of vacancies is tentative and subject to final clearance by Government
- Vacancies may increase or decrease at any time/stage of recruitment process
- Selected applicants will have to submit Proof of Residence after publication of Final Select List (SC, ST, OBC/MOBC exempted)
- Preliminary Identity Verification: Admit Card and identity proof (Aadhaar/Voter ID/Driving License) checked
- Biometric verification will be conducted before PET & PST and at various recruitment stages
- CCTV surveillance for all PET events
- PET is strenuous; only medically fit candidates should attempt
- Applicants must register in portal only once for all Advertisements using single Application ID
- Multiple Application IDs using different mobile numbers will lead to cancellation
- Name must be exactly as per HSLC Certificate
