Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications:
- HSLC or equivalent examination passed from a recognized Board or Council
Salary/Stipend
- Pay Scale: ₹14,000 - ₹70,000/- per month (Pay Band No.2)
- Grade Pay: ₹5,200/-
- Additional Benefits: Other allowances as admissible under the rules
Age Limit (as on 01-01-2026)
- Minimum Age: 18 years (Born not later than 01-01-2008)
- Maximum Age: 40 years (Born not before 01-01-1986)
Age Relaxations:
- SC, ST (P) and ST (H): 5 years relaxation beyond upper age limit (up to 45 years)
- OBC/MOBC: 3 years relaxation beyond upper age limit (up to 43 years)
- Ex-Servicemen: Additional 2 years relaxation
- Age calculated on basis of Matriculation/HSLC Admit Card/HSLC Passed Certificate issued by recognized Board/Council only
- No other document (Horoscope, Affidavit, Birth Extract from Municipal Corporation, Health Department, Service Record etc.) will be accepted for age proof

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) - 40 Marks:
For Male Candidates:
- Race (20 marks): 1600 meters race to be completed within 450 seconds (7.5 minutes)
- Maximum 20 marks for time 300 seconds or less
- Minimum qualifying time: 450 seconds
- Marks decrease progressively based on time taken
- Conducted under CCTV surveillance using RFID chips
- Long Jump (20 marks): Minimum 335 cm required
- 3 chances given; longest valid jump considered
- Minimum qualifying jump: 335 cm (10 marks)
- Maximum 20 marks for jump of 500 cm or more
- Conducted under CCTV surveillance
For Female Candidates:
- Race (20 marks): 800 meters race to be completed within 240 seconds (4 minutes)
- Maximum 20 marks for time 160 seconds or less
- Minimum qualifying time: 240 seconds
- Marks decrease progressively based on time taken
- Conducted under CCTV surveillance using RFID chips
- Long Jump (20 marks): Minimum 244 cm required

Medical Examination:

Physical Standard Test (PST) - Qualifying (No Marks):

Written Test - 50 Marks:
- Shortlisting: 5 times the number of posts in order of merit based on PET marks
- 100 multiple choice questions on OMR sheet
- Each correct answer carries 0.5 marks (Total 50 marks)
- No negative marking
- Questions of Class IX and X level
- Subjects: Elementary Arithmetic, General English, Logical reasoning/Mental ability, Assam's History, Geography, Polity, Economy, General Awareness/GK and current affairs
- Question paper available in Assamese/Bodo/Bengali/English languages
- Date and venue to be notified in due course
Oral/Viva Voce - 5 Marks:
- Shortlisting: 2 times number of vacancies based on total marks in PET & Written Test
- Candidates scoring same marks as last selected candidate will also be called
NCC Weightage - Maximum 5 Marks:
- NCC 'C' Certificate: 5 marks
- NCC 'B' Certificate: 3 marks
- NCC 'A' Certificate: 2 marks
Final Merit Calculation - Total 100 Marks:
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): 40 marks
- Written Test: 50 marks
- NCC Weightage: 5 marks

Tie-Breaking:
- In case of tie in marks, older candidate placed higher in merit list
- If same date of birth with equal marks, candidate with higher height placed higher
Physical Standards
Height Requirements:
- Male (General/OBC/MOBC/SC): 162.5 cm
- Male (ST P/ST H): 160 cm
- Female (General/OBC/MOBC/SC): 144.5 cm
- Female (ST P/ST H): 142 cm
Chest Measurement (Only for Men):
- Measuring not less than 81 cm when deflated
Weight Requirements:
- For both Male and Female candidates: Proportionate to height and age as per medical standard
Medical Standards:
- Candidates must be of sound health both mentally and physically
- Free from organic defect or bodily infirmity likely to interfere with efficient discharge of duties
- Good mental and bodily health required
- Free from physical deformities
- Free from diabetes, heart disease, hernia, piles, respiratory diseases, knock-knee, flat foot or any physical deformity
- Should not be colour blind or squint eyed
- Eye Sight: Distance vision 6/6 for at least one eye and not poorer than 6/9 for other without correction; Normal near vision
- Varicose vein considered as temporary disqualification
- Candidates required to undergo Medical Examination as necessary before appointment
General Information/Instructions
- Applicant must be a Citizen of India and Permanent Resident of Assam
- Must be registered with a local Employment Exchange in Assam
- Must speak Assamese or any other State language fluently
- The present number of vacancies (138) is tentative and subject to final clearance by Government
- Vacancies may increase or decrease at any time/stage of recruitment process
- Selected applicants will have to submit Proof of Residence after publication of Final Select List (SC, ST, OBC/MOBC exempted)
- Preliminary Identity Verification: Admit Card and identity proof (Aadhaar/Voter ID/Driving License) will be checked
- Biometric verification conducted before PET & PST and at exit, also during Written Test and Oral/Viva Voce
- CCTV surveillance for all PET events
- PET is strenuous; only medically fit candidates should attempt
- SLPRB not liable for any injury during tests due to pre-existing medical conditions
- Applicants must register in portal only once for all Advertisements using single Application ID
- Multiple Application IDs using different mobile numbers will lead to cancellation
- Name must be exactly as per HSLC Certificate
- Keep mobile number active and unchanged until recruitment completion
- Edit option available for 5 days after last date (only once, subject to SLPRB approval)
- All documents uploaded must be issued on or before 22-02-2026
- Caste Certificate only from Competent Authority of Govt. of Assam accepted
- Failure to produce original Caste Certificate during verification will result in treatment as GENERAL category
- No changes in entries after document submission during PET & PST
- Incomplete/defective/invalid applications will be summarily rejected
- No TA/DA admissible for journey and stay during any recruitment stage
- Height measurement is posture-dependent; candidates advised to stand in best posture
- Earlier height certificates not valid in case of dispute
- Re-measurement allowed same day if not qualified; Selection Committee decision final
- Applicants eliminated as soon as they fail any PET or PST event
- Appearing from more than one venue leads to cancellation
- Final appointment subject to satisfactory Police Verification and Medical Examination Report
- Selected candidates will undergo basic training at designated place and time
- Training period can be extended by Competent Authority
- Failure to complete training in three chances leads to discharge
- Appointees must serve minimum 3 years after posting or refund training costs
