Project and Job Description
The project is titled "Satellite detection and evaluation of phytoplankton size classes during recurring bloom events in coastal waters of the north-western Bay of Bengal." The SRF will do seasonal water sampling in the Rushikulya Estuary from a country boat or local boat. The role also covers radiometer operation, satellite data analysis, sample analysis, data interpretation and report preparation.

Essential Qualification
- First-class M.Sc. degree in Marine Sciences, Oceanography, Environmental Sciences, or a closely related discipline from a recognized university.
- At least two years of relevant research experience after obtaining the qualifying postgraduate degree, supported by documentary evidence.
Desirable Qualifications
Preference may be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in:
- Coastal oceanographic field surveys, including water sampling from research vessels or fishing boats.
- Operation of oceanographic instruments, radiometers and in situ water-quality monitoring equipment.
- Laboratory analysis of seawater samples, including nutrients, chlorophyll and phytoplankton.
- Processing and interpretation of satellite ocean-colour data, particularly OCM-3, MODIS, Sentinel-3 or PACE-OCI.
- Scientific data analysis, interpretation and preparation of technical reports or research publications.

Selection Process
