Eligibility Criteria & Job Requirements
Candidates must fulfill the minimum qualifications and service conditions specified by BIS:
Service Eligibility
- Option A: Persons holding an analogous post on a regular basis.
- Option B: Candidates in Level-6 of the Pay Matrix with 3 years of regular service.
Educational Qualification
- Option A: Master of Business Administration (MBA) with Personnel/Finance specialization of two years' duration from a recognized university/AICTE-approved institution.
- Option B: Post Graduate Degree/Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management/Human Resource Management/Finance of two years' duration from a recognized university/AICTE-approved institution.
Age Limit & Other Conditions
Maximum Age: 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
Departmental Candidates: BIS's own departmental candidates are not eligible to apply for deputation posts.
Place of Posting: BIS reserves the right to modify the number of posts and place of posting, and may transfer candidates across any BIS office in India as per organizational requirement.
BIS Selection Methodology
The selection process for the Section Officer post is as follows:
- Initial Screening: Applications will be screened based on eligibility criteria, qualifications, and experience submitted through proper channel.
- Documents Required with Application: Attested copies of last 5 years' APAR dossiers, Vigilance Clearance Certificate, and Integrity Certificate duly signed by the appropriate authority must be forwarded by the concerned authority along with the application.
- Final Selection: Based on assessment of applications and documents submitted through proper channel.

- Complete the Declaration (Annexure-II) and ensure the Forwarding Authority countersigns with the certificate.
- The Forwarding Authority must enclose: (i) attested copies of last 5 years' APARs, (ii) Vigilance Clearance Certificate, and (iii) Integrity Certificate.
