Eligibility Criteria
- For Houseman: Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.).
- For Registrar – Medicine: M.D. Medicine / DNB Medicine / CPS Medicine or 2 post work experience as Houseman.
- For Registrar – Paediatrics: M.D. Paediatrics / D.C.H / DNB (Paediatrics) or 2 post work experience as Houseman.
- For Registrar – Surgery: M.S. Surgery.
- Candidates possessing medical qualifications must be registered with Maharashtra Medical Council.
Salary/Stipend
- Houseman: Basic Rs. 6600/- + DP Rs. 3300/- + DA as per rule + stipend Rs. 27,000/-.
- Registrar: Basic Rs. 6700/- + DP Rs. 3350/- + DA as per rule + stipend Rs. 27,000/-.
- Reservation as per Government norms will be applicable.
- The number of posts to be filled is subject to variation.
Age Limit (as on 27-01-2026)
- Age limit: 33 years.
- Age limit for backward class candidates: 38 years.
Application Fee
- Selected candidates will have to pay an amount of Rs. 10,000/- by Demand Draft in favor of Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai by way of deposit at the time of counseling.
- Appointment order will not be given if deposit is not paid at the time of counseling.
- Refund of deposit is subject to completion of the full tenure period; then they may be eligible for refund of deposit.

Selection Process
- Selection list will be displayed at 03:00 pm on 29.01.2026 on the notice board of the office of Medical Superintendent, Kasturba Hospital, Sane Guruji Marg, Mumbai-11.
- Selected candidates should present themselves for counseling on 30.01.2026 at 11:30 am onward at their own cost with original educational certificates in the office of Medical Superintendent.
- Blacklisted candidates will not be considered.
- Candidates who reject the appointment offered to them or fail to join or leave in the middle of the tenure shall not be considered for any other post in any of the Municipal Medical Institutions for a period of three years.
General Information/Instructions
- Applications are invited from Medical Graduates for appointments in tenure posts for a period of six months from 01.02.2026 to 31.07.2026 at Kasturba Hospital for Infectious Diseases.
- Reservation as per Government norms will be applicable. If candidates belonging to reserved categories are not available, then the posts will be filled from available categories.
- The number of posts to be filled in is subject to variation.
- Applications should be submitted in prescribed forms available in the office of Medical Superintendent, Kasturba Hospital for Infectious Diseases, Sane Guruji Marg, Mumbai-400011, not later than 27.01.2026, with certified true copies of all related certificates.
- If any candidate is found to have supplied false information/certificate or withheld/cancelled any information in his/her application form, he/she shall not be considered for appointment and, if appointed, the appointment may be terminated.
- The candidates should note that they have to work during the tenure period at any of the wards in this hospital as required by the administration.
- Preference will be given to those who have passed from the colleges of the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai.
