Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Degree in Law (full time) with minimum 50% marks from recognized University/Institute in India
  • The specified qualification should have been acquired within the prescribed minimum course duration
  • Wherever CGPA/OGPA/CPI or letter grade is awarded, equivalent percentage of marks should be indicated as per norms adopted by University/Institute

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 23 years post-qualification relevant experience (at least 5 years in a Senior Management position)
  • Experience as Full-Time Officer/Executive in Legal Department of Central/State Government or their Public Sector Undertakings/Statutory Corporations/Regulatory Bodies
  • OR Full-time Executive/Officer in Legal Department of Private Sector Organization(s) of repute listed on NSE or Group A/B of BSE OR having more than 500 regular employees OR annual turnover of more than Rs. 250 crores during relevant financial year(s)
  • OR As Judicial Officer in Judicial Service of any State
  • OR Full-Time Officer as employee in a Law Firm of repute having annual turnover of more than Rs. 10 crores during relevant financial year(s)
  • Experience as practicing advocate in District Court/High Court/Supreme Court up to 8 years out of 23 years of required experience shall also be considered along with above experience
  • Candidates working in PSU/Government must have minimum one year experience in next lower pay scale or equivalent

Desirable Experience Areas

  • Arbitration (including commercial arbitration) & Conciliation matters, Industrial/Labour law matters and other dispute resolution mechanisms
  • Drafting & Vetting various Legal or contractual documents, providing legal opinions, handling legal matters pertaining to Mergers, Acquisitions & Joint Ventures, Regulatory matters
  • Handling litigation (Civil, Consumer and Criminal) before different Judicial/Quasi-Judicial Forums
  • Advising on and handling various service matters
  • Experience of managing team of Legal Officers
  • Preference will be given to candidates having experience in Oil & Gas/Petrochemical Industry

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 23 years post-qualification relevant experience as on 30-11-2025
  • At least 5 years in Senior Management position
  • Candidates must submit suitable documentary proof at the time of filling application online to establish the experience
  • For departmental candidates of EIL: Minimum two years service in EIL and at least one year in present level as on 30-11-2025

Salary/Stipend

  • Pay Scale: Rs. 1,20,000 - 2,80,000/- per month
  • Total CTC (approx): Rs. 42.97 Lakhs per annum (calculated on basic pay at lowest of the scale)
  • CTC Components: Basic Pay, DA, HRA, Other Perks & Allowances, encashment of earned leaves and Retirement benefits as applicable
  • Post-Retirement Medical Coverage: Applicable to candidates 45 years of age or below as on date of joining regular rolls (conditions apply for ex-CPSE candidates)
  • Career Growth: Governed by prevailing rules, practices and amendments depending on qualification and performance
