Selection Process

Computer Based Test (CBT) / Written Screening Test of 120 marks of 1 ½ hours (one and a half hours) duration or as decided by the Aayog.

Syllabus The objective type screening test will consist of 120 multiple-choice questions, with each question carrying 1 mark.

i) Subject(s)/field(s) upto the level of prescribed essential qualification(s) as notified in the advertisement. ii) (a) General Knowledge including General Knowledge of Himachal Pradesh, Current Affairs. (b) Everyday Science, Logical Reasoning, Social Science, General English & General Hindi etc. of Matric Standard.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

• General Category: 45%
• SC/ST/OBC/Wards of Freedom Fighters: 40%

If the number of candidates securing the prescribed percentage is less than the advertised posts, the Aayog may relax the qualifying percentage by a maximum of 5% (i.e., upto 40% for General and 35% for reserved categories) for reasons to be recorded in writing.

Normalization of Scores (for multiple shifts CBT) Scores shall be normalized using Z-Score Method (Mean and Standard Deviation Method) for preparation of the merit list.

Further Process

• Shortlisting for Document Verification based on merit.
• Final selection/allocation on the basis of “Merit-Cum-Option-Cum-Availability of Post” formula.
• Category-wise waiting list/panel shall be prepared (25%/15%/10% of posts as per rules).
• Recommendations valid till appointments are offered by the Appointing Authority.
• Selected candidates liable to be posted anywhere within the State.

Steps to Fill Up Online Application Form Step 1: Sign Up – Register on the HPRCA portal by clicking “Sign Up” to create username and password.

Step 2: One-Time Registration (OTR) – Complete OTR with:

• Personal information
• Educational qualifications
• Work experience (if any)
• Upload recent photograph & signature
• Upload relevant supporting documents

Step 3: Complete/Update Profile – Only users with completed profile can apply. Edit if required.

Step 4: Apply for a Post – View available posts → Click “Apply”.

Step 5: Preferred Exam District – Select preferred district(s). (HPRCA reserves the right to allot any centre.)

Step 6: Confirm Application Details – System auto-fills from profile; review carefully.

Step 7: Pay Application Fee – Through Online Payment Gateway (Credit/Debit Card/Net Banking).

Step 8: Application Submission Confirmation – After successful payment, application is complete.

Important

• Candidates must be registered on One Time Registration (OTR) portal before filling ORA.
• Only one application per post. Multiple applications liable to rejection.
• Correction window (4 days after closing date) – Fee ₹100/-.
• Keep mobile number and email ID active till completion of selection process.

General Instructions

• Date for determining eligibility = closing date i.e. 08.05.2026 (11:59 PM).
• Age reckoned as on 01.01.2026.
• Category certificates (OBC, BPL/EWS, WFF etc.) must be valid on both closing date and date of document verification.
• Reserved category candidates of other States treated as General (UR).
• PwBD/PwD candidates can avail scribe/reader + compensatory time (20 min per hour) after prior approval.
• Examination & processing fee once paid non-refundable.
• Provisional admission to CBT; final eligibility determined at document verification.
• Admit Card downloadable from website only (no postal dispatch).
• Candidates must bring downloaded ORA + original certificates at document verification.
• No change in category claimed after correction window.
• Meritorious reserved candidates considered only in their reserved category (not UR).
• Waiting list valid for one year from date of recommendation.
• Any dispute subject to Court jurisdiction of HP.
• HPRCA reserves right to change terms, rectify errors, club posts, etc.
• Selected teachers engaged purely on Scheme basis – temporary (5 years), fixed honorarium only, not Government employees, no regularization claim, service rules not applicable.
