Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree (Master's) in any social sciences or allied disciplines from a recognized university/institution.
• Eligible specializations: Psychology, Neuropsychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, Behavioural Sciences, Biomedical Engineering.
• Minimum 55% marks or equivalent CGPA.
• Must have NET / M.Phil / PhD qualification.

Knowledge and Skills Required

• Prior exposure to EEG / fNIRS / physiological data collection and Hyperscanning protocols.
• Familiarity with MATLAB, Python, SPSS, R or similar analytical tools.
• Strong foundation in research methodology, experimental design and data collection procedures.
• Familiarity with administering psychological questionnaires and behavioral assessments.
• Exposure to qualitative research methods such as interviews, transcription and thematic analysis.
• Comfortable working with adolescents and families.
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and learn new methodologies independently.
• Good academic writing and documentation skills.
• Ability to do independent and collaborative research.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and data visualization platforms.

Desirable Experience

• Prior experience as Research Assistant / Project Associate / Intern in psychology or neuroscience laboratory.
• Exposure to EEG device, signal processing and machine learning techniques.

Other Requirements

• Ability to manage fieldwork, participant coordination and research documentation.
• Willingness to travel locally for data collection and research activities.
• MUST be willing to relocate to Chennai, Tamil Nadu for the duration of the project.
• Indian citizen (or eligible migrant from Pakistan or Nepal with Government of India certificate).

Job Responsibilities

• Assisting in project planning, ethics documentation and research coordination.
• Recruitment and screening of participants for the study.
• Administration of standardized psychological questionnaires and behavioral assessments.
• Assisting in EEG Hyperscanning data collection, including participant preparation, protocol execution and basic quality checks.
• Supporting pre-processing and organization of EEG, questionnaire and interview data.
• Assisting with qualitative interviews, transcription, coding and thematic analysis.
• Supporting statistical analysis and feature extraction for predictive modelling using multimodal datasets.
• Contributing to preparation of project reports, research manuscripts, conference submissions and policy briefs.
• Maintaining research records, datasets and documentation in compliance with ethical guidelines.
