Rare Earths Division of IREL (India) Limited invites applications for engagement of 30 Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 at Udyogamandal, Kochi, Kerala. Trade-wise details are as follows:
Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualification
- Candidates must possess the trade-wise qualifications listed above.
- Qualifications must be obtained through regular full-time mode; Distance Learning, Part Time and Correspondence modes are not acceptable.
- Candidates having higher/professional qualifications than those prescribed are not eligible to apply.
2. Apprenticeship Status
- Candidates currently undergoing Apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 in any Govt./Public Sector/Private industrial establishment are NOT eligible.
- Candidates who have already undergone Apprenticeship Training in IREL or any other organization are not eligible.
3. Age Limit
- Minimum age: 18 years as on the last date of application.
- Maximum age: 25 years as on the last date of application.
- Age relaxation: SC/ST up to 5 years; OBC (NCL) up to 3 years; PWBD up to 10 years.
Age Limit
- As on the last date of application, the candidate should be between 18 and 25 years of age.
- Relaxation in upper age limit is applicable as per Government guidelines: SC/ST – 5 years; OBC (NCL) – 3 years; PWBD – 10 years.
- Proof of age must be supported by Matriculation/10th certificate or Birth Certificate.
Selection Process
- Selection is based on merit list prepared from marks scored in the specified educational qualification, subject to being found “Medically Fit” by the company’s authorised Doctor.
- In case of tie, higher marks in the qualifying exam will be considered; if still equal, elder candidate (earlier date of birth) will be given preference.
- Priority order for selection at Rare Earths Division:
- Candidates belonging to Land Affected Category (if applicable, with documentary proof).
- Candidates from peripheral villages within 10 km radius of RED and wards of serving/deceased employees of IREL.
- Candidates from Ernakulam District.
- Candidates from Kerala State.
- Others.
- Merit list candidates will be called for document verification; originals and self-attested photocopies of all required documents must be produced.
- Shortlisted candidates must undergo medical examination and be declared “Medically Fit” before engagement.
- Entry to RED, a highly protected area, requires submission of Police Verification Certificate from the concerned Police authorities prior to joining.
- Final selection and department allocation within the unit are at the discretion of management; there is no obligation to offer regular employment during or after apprenticeship.

- Trade Apprentices: Register in the apprenticeship portal of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship at https://www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in (if not already registered).

- Technician & Graduate Apprentices: Apply against Establishment Registration No. SKLERC000015.
- Download & Fill Application (Annexure-A): Fill the application in the prescribed proforma (preferably on A4 size paper) as given in the advertisement.
- Prepare Scanned Documents: Scan and self-attest photocopies of:
- 10th Pass/Matriculation Certificate or Birth Certificate (proof of date of birth).
- 10th Mark Sheet.
- SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/EWS/Disability certificates (as applicable) in prescribed format.
- Declaration form for OBC-NCL, if applicable.
- All semester/year-wise mark sheets and final certificate of ITI/Diploma/Degree, as applicable to the apprentice category.
- Nativity Certificate.
- Aadhaar Card.
- Proof of enrollment/registration in the respective apprenticeship portal (NATS/NAPS).
- Email Submission: Send the scanned copy of duly filled application form affixed with passport size photograph along with all supporting documents to [email protected].
- Subject Line: Mention in email subject: “APPLICATION FOR ENGAGEMENT OF APPRENTICES AGAINST NOTIFICATION NO. IREL/RED/HRM/Apprentices Engagement/2026-27/01”.
- Ensure that the email with complete scanned application and documents reaches on or before 15/03/2026; applications after this date will not be considered.
Important Dates
Instructions
- Applications without registration in the respective apprenticeship portal will not be accepted.
- Applications which are incomplete or not fulfilling the eligibility criteria will be treated as “Rejected”.
- Service terms and conditions will be governed by the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 as amended.
- IREL has no obligation to offer regular employment during or after completion of apprenticeship; apprentices will be relieved after successful completion.
- Any corrigendum/addendum or updates will be available only on www.irel.co.in; candidates should check the website regularly.
- Candidature is provisional and subject to verification of certificates. If at any stage it is found that eligibility norms are not fulfilled or information is false/incorrect/suppressed, candidature/engagement will be cancelled/terminated.
- Management’s decision regarding eligibility, selection, acceptance/rejection of applications, mode of selection and filling of seats will be final and binding; no correspondence will be entertained.
Salary/Stipend
- Stipend shall be paid at the rates prescribed under the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 and Government notifications from time to time for respective categories of Apprentices.
- In addition to stipend, apprentices will be entitled to a food coupon valued at ₹1,500 per month.
- No other benefits or financial assistance will be provided during the training period.
