IREL OSCOM Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Age Limit
As on the last date of application (15th May 2026), the minimum age is 18 years and the maximum age is 25 years. Reserved category candidates are entitled to age relaxation as per Government norms. SC/ST candidates receive a relaxation of up to 5 years (maximum age: 30 years). OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates receive a relaxation of up to 3 years (maximum age: 28 years). Persons with Disabilities (PwD) receive a relaxation of up to 10 years (applicable over and above the category relaxation for SC/ST/OBC). Candidates not meeting the age criteria as on the last date of application will be treated as rejected.

IREL OSCOM Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Stipend
Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend as prescribed under the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, as notified by the Government of India from time to time. The stipend rate depends on the category of apprentice (Graduate, Technician, or Trade/ITI) and is revised periodically.
IREL will not provide any other benefit or financial assistance to apprentices during the training period - no accommodation, travel allowance (TA), daily allowance (DA), or any other perquisites will be provided. Apprentices must arrange their own accommodation. IREL has no obligation to offer regular employment after completion of the apprenticeship period. Upon successful completion, candidates will be relieved from the respective work area.

IREL OSCOM Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
Selection will be based on merit determined by marks scored in the specified educational qualification. In case of a tie in marks, the candidate with higher marks in the qualifying examination will be preferred. If the tie persists, seniority in date of birth (older candidate preferred) will be the tiebreaker. No canvassing or influencing will be acceptable - this will result in rejection of the candidature.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification in the order of merit and must bring original documents along with one set of self-attested photocopies. Final engagement is subject to satisfactory medical fitness as certified by IREL's Medical Officer. Reservation is as per the Government of Odisha guidelines. A unique priority-based selection system also applies to give preference to local, land-affected, and IREL employee-related candidates.
