Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the following minimum educational qualification for the post of Deputy General Manager (Mech.) – Bulk Material Handling Expert (VC No. CP/07/26):

• Full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or
• Full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Technology in Mechanical / Production / Production & Industrial / Manufacturing / Mechanical / Railways / Mechatronics & Automobile or any of the above combinations in part or whole.
• Degree must be recognized by AICTE and obtained from a University incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be Deemed University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.
• Sections A & B examination of the Institution of Engineers (India), treated as equivalent to Degree by Govt. of India and recognized by AICTE, shall also be accepted.
• UR/EWS candidates (and SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD applying against unreserved posts) must have first class degree / minimum 60% marks in the minimum qualification.
• Reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD as applicable) should have at least 50% marks in the minimum qualification for consideration against reserved posts.

If the certificate/mark sheet does not indicate first class/division or percentage, candidates must provide the conversion formula issued by the concerned university/institution. Where no formula exists, an undertaking from the university/institution is required, and minimum 6 on 10-point scale will be considered as 60%.

2. Minimum Post-Qualification Experience

Candidates should have the following minimum post-qualification experience (post degree) for CP/07/26:

• Minimum 09 years’ experience in designing and optimizing bulk material handling systems.
• Ability to develop process flow diagrams, capacity calculations, and optimization studies.
• Experience and proficiency in material handling systems such as conveyors, stackers, reclaimers, ship loaders/unloaders, silos, wagon tipplers, and rapid loading systems.
• Proven capability in project lifecycle management from feasibility to commissioning.
• Experience in cost estimation, budgeting and lifecycle analysis of CAPEX and OPEX.

The period of training (except on-the-job training), internship, teaching, academic, fellowship, and PhD research experience shall not be counted as part of experience.

3. Age Limit & Relaxations

• Maximum age for UR: 50 years as on 08.03.2026.
• SC/ST: Relaxation of 5 years in upper age limit.
• OBC–NCL: Relaxation of 3 years in upper age limit.
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): Relaxation of 10 years in addition to category relaxation, subject to post being identified suitable.

PwBD candidates will have to meet the physical requirements and functional classifications identified for Mechanical posts (Locomotor disability – OA/OL with specified physical requirements).

4. Nationality

Candidates must be eligible to work in India as per applicable laws and guidelines as implied in the notification.

Selection Process for RITES Deputy General Manager (Mech.) – Bulk Material Handling Expert 2026

Candidates will be selected based on the following process:

• Document Scrutiny/Verification: All candidates who have successfully submitted their online application will be provisionally allowed for document scrutiny/verification to determine eligibility with respect to the post applied.
• Interview: Shortlisted and eligible candidates after document scrutiny shall be allowed to appear for Interview. RITES Ltd. reserves the right to shortlist candidates for selection out of eligible applicants.
• Interview Weightage: 100% weightage to Interview (Technical & Professional proficiency – 65%; Personality, Communication & Competency – 35%).
• Qualifying Marks in Interview: Minimum 60% marks for UR/EWS candidates and 50% for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD against reserved posts are required for being considered for placement on panel. There is no minimum qualifying marks requirement in aggregate.
• Medical Examination: Appointment will be subject to candidates being found medically fit as per RITES Rules and Standards of Medical Fitness for the relevant post.

Reservation/relaxation/concessions for EWS/SC/ST/OBC–NCL/PwBD/Ex-SM/J&K Domicile will be provided against reserved posts, wherever applicable, as per Government orders.

Salary/Stipend

The remuneration for the post of Deputy General Manager (Mech.) – Bulk Material Handling Expert (VC No. CP/07/26) is as follows:

• IDA Pay Scale: INR 70,000 – 2,00,000.
• Approximate CTC at minimum of pay scale: INR 19.85 Lakh per annum.
• Components include Basic Pay, DA, fixed/variable allowances @23% of Basic Pay, HRA/Lease, PF contribution, and Gratuity as per Payment of Gratuity Act.
