Ophthalmologist: MS in Ophthalmology/DNB in Ophthalmology from a recognized Institute/University. Or Diploma in Ophthalmic Medicine and Surgery (DOMS)/Diploma in Ophthalmology (DO) from a recognized Institute/University. The above qualification must be registered with Bihar Council of Medical Registration, Patna or Medical Council of India or National Medical Commission before joining.
Psychiatrist: MD in Psychiatry from a recognized Institute/University. Or DNB in Psychiatry from a recognized Institute/University. The above qualification must be registered with Bihar Council of Medical Registration, Patna or Medical Council of India or National Medical Commission before joining.
Dermatologist: MD in Dermatology/DNB in Dermatology from a recognized Institute/University Or Diploma in Venerology & Dermatology (DVD) from a recognized Institute/University. The candidates with MD in dermatology/DNB in dermatology will be given preference. ENT Surgeon: MS in ENT/DNB in ENT from a recognized Institute/University. Or Diploma in Otorhinolaryngology (DLO) from a recognized Institute/University. The above qualification must be registered with Bihar Council of Medical Registration, Patna or Medical Council of India or National Medical Commission before joining. The candidates with MS in ENT/DNB in ENT would be given preference.
Anaesthetist: MD in Anaesthesia/DNB in Anaesthesia from a recognized Institute/University. Or Diploma Anaesthesia (DA) from a recognized Institute/University The above qualification must be registered with Bihar Medical Council, Patna, Bihar or Medical Council of India or National Medical Commission before joining.
Salary/Stipend
Ophthalmologist: Rs. 1,00,000/- for MD/MS/DNB or; Rs. 90,000/- for Diploma (Posting for District Head Quarter)
Psychiatrist: Rs. 1,00,000/- for MD/MS/DNB or; Rs. 90,000/- for Diploma (Posting for District Head Quarter)
Dermatologist: Rs. 1,00,000/- for MD/MS/DNB or; Rs. 90,000/- for Diploma (Posting for District Head Quarter)
ENT Surgeon: Rs. 1,00,000/- for MD/MS/DNB or; Rs. 90,000/- for Diploma (Posting for District Head Quarter)
Anaesthetist: Rs. 1,00,000/- for MD/MS/DNB (Posting for District Head Quarter) or; Rs. 1,20,000/- for MD/MS/DNB (Posting for other then District Head Quarter) or; Rs. 90,000/- for Diploma in respective of place of posting.

Disabled candidates get 10 years relaxation in maximum age limit.
Departmental employees get maximum 05 years relaxation, provided they meet minimum eligibility.

Selection Process
Selection based on total 100 marks: MBBS marks (60) + MS/MD/DNB marks (40 flat) or Diploma marks (30 flat).
MBBS percentage multiplied by 0.60 for marks.
For grade/CGPA in MBBS, use converted percentage or flat 50% if not converted.
For foreign qualifications, use FMGE marks multiplied by 0.6, registered with MCI/NMC.
Merit list prepared category-wise based on marks.
In case of tie: Older candidate higher, then higher qualification, then alphabetical name order from 10th certificate.
Shortlisted candidates called for document verification.
Final merit list after verification, then counseling for posting based on merit-cum-choice.
General Information/Instructions
Honorarium for all specialist doctors under NHM is as specified.
Cut off date for age, educational qualification and work experience is 01.01.2026.
Minimum age 21 years and maximum age as per reservation category on 01.01.2026.
Only one relaxation in maximum age from disabled or departmental.

Employment on contract for 11 months initially, extendable up to 60 years or RoP approval.

Reservation as per Bihar rules, only for Bihar residents; must claim in online form.
